CBS WINS THE WEEK IN VIEWERS WITH THE TOP 11 SCRIPTED SERIES

"NCIS" Tops All Programming with 19.65 Million Viewers

 

CBS Heads into the New Year #1 in Viewers with a Sizeable Lead Over

Second Place NBC

 

Network Has Four of the Top Five Scripted Programs of the Season Including the #1 Drama ("NCIS") and #1 Comedy ("The Big Bang Theory")

 

CBS Has the Season's Top Three New Comedies and Broadcast Television's Top Scripted Series in Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-34

 

CBS placed #1in viewers for the 11th time in 13 weeks led by NCIS, the week's #1 program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 22.

 

Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +17% in viewers, +15% in adults 25-54 and +13% in adults 18-49.

 

CBS had the week's top 11 scripted series in viewers and top eight in adults 18-49.

 

More than 56 years after "I Love Lucy" ended its CBS run in May of 1957, Friday's colorized I LOVE LUCY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL swept its time period and was the night's top program in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

 

CBS heads into the second half of the season #1 in viewers with a sizeable lead over second place NBC (11.63m vs. 9.88m, +18%) and in second place among adults 18-49 (2.7/08).

 

The Network has four of the top five scripted programs of the season including the #1 drama/program (NCIS) and the #1 comedy (THE BIG BANG THEORY).

 

With nine of the top 20 programs, more than any other network, CBS also has the season's top three new comedies (THE MILLERS, THE CRAZY ONES and MOM) and broadcast television's #1 series in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34 (THE BIG BANG THEORY).

THE BIG BANG THEORY

 

  •  THE BIG BANG THEORY (R) (8:00-8:31PM) was #1 in viewers (11.25m), adults 25-54 (4.0/12) and adults 18-49 (2.8/09).  THE BIG BANG THEORY (R) beat the two-hour finale of "The X Factor" by  +90% in adults 25-54 (vs. 2.1/06), +65% in adults 18-49 (vs. 1.7/05) and by +5.05m viewers (vs. 6.20m, +81%).  The rebroadcast beat all original scripted programming on the competition.

 

I LOVE LUCY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

 

  •  I LOVE LUCY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL (S) was #1 in viewers (8.71m), adults 25-54 (2.2/07) and adults 18-49 (1.4/05).  CBS posted its best delivery in the time period in viewers since Nov. 8 and in adults 25-54 since Nov. 15.   I LOVE LUCY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL was the night's top program in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
