“THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT” ONCE AGAIN BEATS COMBINED COMPETITION

For the week ending Friday, Jan. 22 (week #18 of the 2020-2021 broadcast season), in live plus 3-day lift, THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT averaged an audience of 3.36 million viewers, beating the combined viewership of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (1.71m, +96%) and “The Tonight Show” (1.39m, +142%) by +8%. Last week, THE LATE SHOW posted the third largest weekly audience of the season (behind the week ending Nov. 27, 2020 and the week ending Jan. 8).

On Wednesday (January 20, 2021), a live LATE SHOW delivered 3.64 million viewers with three-day ratings. It was THE LATE SHOW’s second largest Wednesday audience this season, behind the Jan. 6 live broadcast after the Capitol insurrection.

Season-to-date, THE LATE SHOW is first in viewers (3.18m), leading “Jimmy Kimmel Live” by +79% (versus 1.78m) and “The Tonight Show” by +108% (versus 1.53m). THE LATE SHOW is also leading both competitors’ late night offerings in adults 25-54 (0.5) and adults 18-49 (0.4).

Finally, for the week ending Jan. 22, THE LATE SHOW was again the #1 late night show on YouTube for views of current content (clips posted during the week). Clips of Colbert’s live show on Inauguration Day, Wednesday, Jan. 20, netted nearly 10 million total views on the platform. (Source: Tubular Labs).
