“48 HOURS PRESENTS: AS IT HAPPENED: JOHN F. KENNEDY: 50 YEARS” AT 9:00 P.M. IS #1 WITH VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS

            48 HOURS: “The Devil’s Twin” was Saturday’s #1 program with viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 16, 2013.  48 HOURS “The Devil’s Twin” (10:00-11:00 PM) posted a 4.0/07 with 5.95m viewers, and a 1.5/04 with adults 25-54 and a 1.0/04 in adults 18-49. Compared to the same night a year ago, 48 HOURS was up +13% in viewers and up +5% in households.

At 9:00 PM, 48 HOURS PRESENTS:  “As it Happened: John F. Kennedy: 50 Years” was first in viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.  48 HOURS PRESENTS (S) (9:00-10:00 PM) posted a 3.0/05 with 4.56m viewers, a 1.1/03 with adults 25-54 and a 0.6/02 in adults 18-49. Compared to the same night last year (48 HOURS 9PM (R) (S)) CBS was up +24% in viewers and up +15% in households.

“The Devil’s Twin”  featured Erin Moriarty and 48 HOURS investigation into the murder of Heather DeWild, who went missing in 2003 after a visit to her estranged husband Dan DeWild’s house. Heather’s body was found six weeks after the visit to Dan DeWild’s home by a road worker moving dirt. Police suspected her estranged husband, but there was no murder weapon. No fingerprints. No blood in the house where police believed she was killed. The case eventually grew cold until a new district attorney was encouraged by Heather’s parents to reinvestigate the case. Then, eight years after Heather’s body was found, Dan and his identical twin brother David DeWild were arrested for her murder. In twist, prosecutors learned that before Heather disappeared, the DeWild brothers had been watching TV crime dramas and forensic shows.

48 HOURS PRESENTS:  “As it Happened: John F. Kennedy: 50 Years” was anchored by CBS News’ Chief Washington Correspondent and FACE THE NATION Anchor Bob Schieffer and took viewers inside the four days that changed America and American television history.  The one-hour special included archival footage of anchor Walter Cronkite delivering the news of shots fired on the motorcade and then Kennedy’s death. “As it Happened” also included interviews with Bob Huffaker, who covered the assassination for KRLD AM/FM/TV and the Dallas Times Herald, Cronkite’s producer, Sandy Socolow, Kennedy expert Dale K. Myers, author Phil Shenon, Dr. Kenneth Salyer, a first-year surgical resident at Parkland Memorial Hospital who was on the team that tried to save the President, and author and historian Robert Caro.
