Sami Gayle has been making waves in film since 2012, when she co-starred in Tony Kaye’s “Detachment,” opposite Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. Also that year, she shared the screen with Nicolas Cage in “Stolen.” Recently, Gayle starred in and co-produced the film “Candy Jar” with her brother Chad, who also wrote the script. The movie was released in the spring of 2018 to critical acclaim and quickly rose to become one of the most-watched movies on Netflix. Additional feature film credits include “Noah” with Russell Crowe, “The Congress” with Robin Wright (Cannes Film Festival Premiere), “Hateship Loveship” with Kristen Wiig and Guy Pierce, and “Vampire Academy.”
Gayle began her acting career as Baby June in the off-Broadway production of “Gypsy,” starring Patti LuPone. She reprised her role when the production transferred to Broadway a few months later. Also, she was featured in the 2007 Broadway production of “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical.” Her off-Broadway credits include “Oohrah!,” at the Atlantic Theatre Company, and MCC Theatre’s “Family Week,” under the direction of Academy Award winner Jonathan Demme.
In addition to being a part of the Reagan family, Gayle has appeared on television in “As the World Turns,” on the Network, and “Royal Pains.”
She was born and raised in Weston, Fla. and currently resides in New York where she earned a political science and art history degree from Columbia University. In her free time, she enjoys visiting museums, traveling, cooking, knitting and doing volunteer work for Give Kids the World Village, where children with life-threatening illnesses are treated to week-long, cost-free vacations in Orlando.
