BASKETBALL, GOLF AND A SOLID SCHEDULE DRIVE CBS TO A WEEKLY WIN IN VIEWERS AND KEY DEMOS

Ratings Highlights for the week ending APRIL 11

According to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sunday, April 11 (week 29 of the 2020-2021 broadcast season), CBS finished first with 5.94 million viewers, 1.2 in adults 25-54 and 0.8 in adults 18-49.

On Monday, CBS was first in viewers (11.78m), adults 25-54 (3.4/17) and adults 18-49 (2.7/18). The Network posted its largest Monday audience since April 8, 2019 (NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME), best delivery in key men and adults demos since Oct. 5, 2020 (when CBS aired a make-up NFL Game [New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs] delayed by COVID-19). THE CAPITAL ONE CHAMPIONSHIP SPECIAL (8:30-9:20 pm) posted a 6.21 million viewers, 1.6/08 in adults 25-54 and 1.9/11 in adults 18-49. Immediately following, THE NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME “BAYLOR vs. GONZAGA” (9:20-11:35 pm) posted 16.92 million viewers, 5.1/25 in adults 25-54 and 4.1/26 in adults 18-49.

On Tuesday, CBS was first in viewers (8.26m), adults 25-54 (1.2/07) and adults 18-49 (0.8/06) as NCIS was tops in viewers (10.26m), adults 25-54 (1.5/08) and adults 18-49 (1.0/07). NCIS was the night’s #1 program in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 with its largest audience since its Nov. 17, 2020 season premiere. At 9:00 PM, FBI was first in viewers (8.07m), adults 25-54 (1.2/06) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (0.8/05). Rounding out the night at 10:00 PM, FBI: MOST WANTED was first in viewers (6.44m, season-best), adults 25-54 (1.0/06) and adults 18-49 (0.7/05). Compared to the last first-run episode on March 16, FBI: MOST WANTED was up +17% in adults 18-49 (from 0.6/04), even in adults 25-54 and added +180,000 viewers (from 6.26m, +3%). 

On Thursday, YOUNG SHELDON (8:00-8:30 pm) was the night’s top program in viewers (6.95m), while THE UNITED STATES OF AL (8:30-9:00 pm) was first in viewers (5.38m). THE UNITED STATES OF AL was the night’s #2 program in viewers behind YOUNG SHELDON. At 9:00 PM, MOM was also first in viewers with 4.93 million.

On Friday, CBS was once again first in viewers (5.56m). The Network’s first-run dramas have been #1 for 13 consecutive weeks. MACGYVER was first in viewers (4.72m), as were MAGNUM P.I. (5.61m) and the night-leading BLUE BLOODS (6.35m).

On Saturday, CBS combined encore dramas with 48 HOURS at 10:00 PM to take the night. 48 HOURS, with 3.19 million viewers, was Saturday’s top primetime program with its largest audience since Feb. 20, 2021.

On Sunday, CBS was first in viewers (5.94m), adults 25-54 (1.1/05) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (0.7/05). This was the 12th consecutive Sunday CBS was #1 in viewers. 25 minutes of late running THE MASTERS coverage delivered 11.47 million viewers, 2.7/15 in adults 25-54 and 2.0/15 in adults 18-49. 60 MINUTES scored 8.74 million viewers, 1.4/07 in adults 25-54 and 0.9/06 in adults 18-49, placing first in the 7:30-8:30 PM time slot. The balance of the night (THE EQUALIZER, NCIS: LOS ANGELES and NCIS: NEW ORLEANS) was encores.
