Peter Jankowski is president and chief operating officer of Wolf Entertainment, where his responsibilities include both the creative and administrative operation of the company. He serves as executive producer on all of the company’s scripted series including NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU,” “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago PD,” “Chicago Med,” and CBS’ FBI, FBI: MOST WANTED and the newest FBI iteration, FBI: INTERNATIONAL.
In 2003, Jankowski produced the World Trade Center tribute “Twin Towers,” which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. Also, he produced “When You’re Strange,” a Grammy Award-winning and Emmy Award-nominated documentary about Jim Morrison and The Doors, which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and made its international debut at the 2009 Berlinale Festival in Berlin, Germany. The film’s airing on the acclaimed PBS series “American Masters” garnered a 2010 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Nonfiction Series. Jankowski received a GRAMMY Award as producer of the film, for Outstanding Longform Video in 2011.
Before joining Wolf Films (now Wolf Entertainment) in 1997, Jankowski served as senior vice president of Universal Television where he was responsible for all series produced under that banner, including “Northern Exposure,” on the Network, “Quantum Leap” and “Coach.” He produced 12 films with the Hispanic Film Project where he was president from 1990-93 and served on the board of the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
