GAMESPOT “PLAY FOR ALL” BRINGS SUMMER GAMING NEWS AND PREVIEWS TO ITS GLOBAL AUDIENCE AND RAISES FUNDS FOR COVID-19 RELIEF

GameSpot Will Partner with Direct Relief to Raise Funds for Healthcare Workers Battling the Global Pandemic

In Partnership with the Biggest Video Game Publishers, the GameSpot Team Will Highlight Announcements, Game Demos and Live Community Events Throughout June and July

SAN FRANCISCO – April 28, 2020 – GameSpot, the #1 gaming news and information site, today announced its plans for the launch of GameSpot “Play for All.” Beginning in early June, the multi-week event will serve as the premier destination for gamers worldwide to stay up-to-date on the industry’s summer announcements, and to raise money for first responders and healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. “Play for All” will include more than 100+ hours of live and on-demand programming streamed on GameSpot, Giant Bomb and Metacritic as well as GameSpot’s YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms.

GameSpot has always been the ultimate online platform to experience the biggest summer gaming announcements,” said Ben Howard, Senior Vice President of Games and Entertainment at ViacomCBS Digital. “This year, along with celebrating the next generation of video games, we are also creating a platform for our audience to help lend support to people on the frontlines in the fight against the coronavirus.”

GameSpot “Play for All” will partner with Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization whose mission is to improve the health and lives of the world’s most vulnerable and at-risk populations affected by poverty and emergencies. Throughout June and July, viewers will have the opportunity to engage with the GameSpot team in a series of live events, including gameplay marathons, gaming challenges and interviews with special guests. During these events, audience members will be directed to GameSpot’s Direct Relief team page to make a donation that will provide needed support and materials to healthcare workers treating COVID-19 patients.

Throughout GameSpot “Play for All,” GameSpot will broadcast key publisher-led digital events with its editorial team providing critical commentary about newly announced games and the hotly anticipated next generation of consoles. The GameSpot team will welcome an array of industry partners, gaming influencers and celebrities to its virtual stage to dive deep and discuss news and previews with demos, live gameplay, interviews and analysis.
