Show Delivers Nearly $2 Million Dollars in Holiday Miracles to Veterans, Wildfire Survivors, Audience Members & Viewers

November 29, 2017 - Los Angeles, CA - Emmy® Award-winning syndicated daytime talk show The Doctors is celebrating its 10th season with its biggest holiday shows ever. Two special episodes airing Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1 will feature heart-warming stories and nearly $2 million dollars in audience and viewer giveaways as well as life-changing surprises for veterans and victims of the California wildfires.

On Thursday, The Doctors reach out to two veterans, Marine Corps Sergeant Nathaniel Bitsui (Phoenix, AZ) and Army Staff Sergeant Jared Stacey (Las Vegas, NV), who returned from service with physical and mental difficulties, including PTSD. They and their families, both of which have children with special needs, struggle to make ends meet with little support and few resources.

Working with JP Morgan Chase and Building Homes for Heroes, The Doctors surprise each family with a newmortgage-free home of their own, $10,000 from Stein Mart and many more holiday miracles.

Friday’s show is equally magical.

Payton Walton is a critical care nurse in Santa Rosa, CA, an area devastated by recent wildfires. In the aftermath of the destruction, Payton started matching volunteers with families who had lost everything and getting them what they need, from school supplies and toys to childcare or a place to stay. So far, this “Wildfire Secret Santa” has recruited over 1700 individuals and families who have ‘adopted’ 139 families. Joining Payton on the show is number 140 - The Donovans, a family of five who lost their home to the fires.

In the spirit of the holiday season, The Doctors present the Donovans with some very special gifts:

  • $5000 Smart & Final Gift Card

  • Four bedroom furniture sets from Zuo Modern and four new mattresses

  • A family vacation to Disney World and $15,000 from Evolve MKD

Payton is also deserving of some cheer, and Nextdoor presents her with $15,000 towards helping more families in need, while HP Pavilion provides her and her volunteer staff each with a new laptop.

Throughout each show the lucky audience is also treated to amazing gifts like an all-inclusive Mexican vacation, $500 worth of the season’s hottest toys, a brand new mattress and much more.
