CBS MEDIA VENTURES ENTERS PARTNERSHIP WITH NUTIME MEDIA

Exclusive Relationship Will Focus on Connecting the Advertising Community With African American Consumers Through Premium Programming

LOS ANGELES – March 10, 2021 – CBS Media Ventures, the preeminent company in television syndication, and NuTime Media, a Minority Business Enterprise certified media advertising sales representation company, have entered into an exclusive partnership to connect advertisers with African American consumers, it was announced today by CMV President Steve LoCascio and NuTime Media President-CEO Morris McWilliams.

The partnership’s mission is to expand opportunities for the advertising community to engage with the African American consumer through premium programming, starting with CMV’s lineup of high-rated first-run series, which include the #1 daytime series “Judge Judy,” the top two magazines “Entertainment Tonight” and “Inside Edition,” popular talk shows “Dr. Phil” and “Wendy Williams,” and the top three game shows “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy!” and “Family Feud.” Initiatives also include soliciting third parties to represent their African American-focused programming and partnering with likeminded content creators to develop advertiser-friendly programming in syndication. Under the agreement, NuTime Media, a Black-owned company led by McWilliams, will work closely with Scott Trupchak, EVP of Media Sales and Partnerships at CMV, and his team.

“We have had a great working relationship with Morris over the last 15 years on various projects, so we are thrilled to establish a formal partnership with him and his team as our roster of programming targeting Black consumers has grown,” LoCascio said. “It is exciting for us to be able to provide advertisers a robust vehicle to reach this important audience through our portfolio.”

“I could not be more pleased and excited to partner with CBS Media Ventures and expand our business,” McWilliams said. “This opportunity gives us the ability to engage content creators focused on producing high quality programming for the Black consumer. We can now offer our advertising partners more opportunities to reach this valuable consumer group in a significant way in syndication and other platforms.”

CBS Media Ventures’ Media Sales team represents advertising sales for a large portfolio of programming popular with Black audiences. These include series CMV produces and distributes such as “Judge Judy” and “Hot Bench,” as well as third-party programming, including “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Family Feud” and “Divorce Court.” CMV will also represent “Nick Cannon,” the new daytime talk show, distributed by Debmar-Mercury, debuting in Fall 2021.

McWilliams is a well-known national media sales executive who specializes in the African American entertainment segment. His company NuTime Media, formerly Related Media Inc., brings 20+ years of experience and knowledge of the African American consumer and media landscape.
