New York, NY – September 14, 2021 – INSIDE EDITION anchor Deborah Norville exclusively speaks today with Paula Jones, who blasts her portrayal in the new FX series, “American Crime Story: Impeachment,” about the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 1998.

Jones tells Norville that there’s a lot the show got wrong.  “The part that I saw about me,” she says. “Most of it was inaccurate. It was almost cartoonish-y.”

She goes on to deny her portrayal of how she or her husband asked for a movie or TV deal. “That is so far from the truth,” she says.

Jones tells Norville that the show did not reach out to her prior to filming the program. “How can they portray somebody accurately if they don’t even call them?”

Monica Lewinsky is one of the Executive Producers of the mini-series, which portrays the former intern in a sympathetic light.  Says Jones, “I find it funny that Monica can have a relationship in the Oval Office, under the Oval desk, yet…people want to hear her story,” she tells Norville. “It makes no sense to me. I have always been shunned and made fun of.”

In 1991, Jones was a 24-year-old Arkansas State employee when she says then-Governor Clinton invited her to her hotel suite. In 1994, Jones filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Clinton where she later testified he exposed himself to her. During legal preparations, her attorneys became aware of Clinton’s affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Norville first interviewed Jones in 1998 when Jones describes how Clinton allegedly propositioned her to perform oral sex on him. What followed was a now-famous meltdown when Norville asked Jones why Clinton would care that she turned him down.

During that 1998 interview, Jones said, “I don’t appreciate that – that was so rude. That was really rude.”

Today, Norville clarifies to Jones, “What my point was,” Norville says, “’Okay fine, he wasn’t successful with this girl, you know, move on, next. Why would he care enough that one person turned him down to go whisper to somebody, ‘Make sure nothing good happens with this lady’s career.’”

Jones responds, “Right, right. Yeah, and you know, I don’t have the answer to that.”

After four years of legal warfare, without admitting wrongdoing or apologizing, President Clinton agreed to settle Paula Jones’ lawsuit for $850,000.

Jones says, “My lawyers got all the money, hope they’re happy.”

Norville goes on to ask Jones, “Do you feel like you are one of the silent founders of the #MeToo movement?”

Jones responds, “I really don’t have anything to do with the #MeToo movement. Actually, they don’t have anything to do with me. I am just out here alone.”
