Drew: Yesterday I visited our friends and family, the ‘CBS Mornings’ crew, and I ended up discussing something with them that I haven’t told publicly. It’s just been my private little journey and well let me give you a little glimpse…It’s so funny when we reveal ourselves and our truths and the things we worked so hard for, it’s so liberating and vulnerable all at the same time. And I really want to attribute this liberation and this moment in my life to our first guest, I just really want to thank Machine Gun Kelly for inspiring the beginning of this journey. I’ve wanted to go deeper on this show, I wanted to pull back the veneers. He has really brought to this show, what for me has been one of the greater honors, to have this kind of a conversation and that’s really a testament to him.

Drew: Who do u go to for support when you’re feeling like this?

Machine Gun Kelly: Well my girl is really centered and kind of was the one who encouraged me to face my past and stuff and pick out what it is that I am running from and why I put on those smiles that I don’t want to wear and stuff like that. That was big for me and I think also, like I was just walking behind my daughter in the airport the other day and she just has this walk, it’s just this pure bounce, she’s so excited for life. Like she’s so young in her life and I’ve experienced so much in my life I just pray to every God that exists that she keeps that bounce forever and no one interferes with that and that I get to always stand back and watch her have that bounce. Like I will take any amount of torture that would come her way if it could just be on me so that she can keep that forever. It’s worth living for to see that, you know? Her voice is so sweet and it’s not tainted with what the world has to offer.

Machine Gun Kelly: The other day I had to witness myself being a rule follower for the first time and her breaking a rule for the first time…I took her to Greece and her, Megan and I went to the Parthenon and we went to the Acropolis and we got up there and I made the stupid mistake of looking at the section that is restricted and I was like, ‘I bet all the cool stuff is in there.’ And Megan was like, ‘Well should we go?’ I was like, ‘Nah probably not. I’ve watched ‘The Mummy’ and ‘National Treasure’ and all the people that touch things that aren’t supposed to be touched and watched it go really bad.’ And she was like, ‘Well Casie, do you want to go?’…I was like, ‘Oh God. I’m just going to stay here.’ And they went across the ropes and the door burst open and they were like, ‘What are you doing?’ And they screamed and ran away, we got kicked out of the Parthenon…I got a call one time her school was like, ‘Hey your daughter got into a thing with this boy,’ And I was like, ‘What happened?’ And they were like, ‘The boy was talking bad about you.’ And I was like, ‘Good job. Don’t ever do that again but I love you so much.’

Drew: Can I ask how you guys met? Did you get set up on a date.

Machine Gun Kelly: We were filming a movie. Which ironically the only reason I took the movie was because they were like, ‘Your scenes with Megan Fox’ and I was like, I’ll take the movie.’ But I stayed outside the trailer and my gut is always right and I’m grateful for it. For some reason I knew she would invite me for lunch. Then all of a sudden someone came over and was like, ‘Megan wants to know if you want to have lunch in her trailer.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so surprised. Yeah absolutely.’ And I had my whole bag packed ready. And I went in there and she said, ‘How do you feel?’ And I said, ‘I’m lost.’ And she said, ‘Let’s find you.’ And I was like, killed me, she was cupid.
