New York, NY - September 8, 2008 -Brooke Simmons, the ex-fiance of John Mark Karr, speaks exclusively with INSIDE EDITION about ending her romance with the one-time Jon Benet Ramsey suspect.

John Mark Karr, who made a confession police said was false regarding the unsolved murder of six-year-old Jon Benet Ramsey, began dating 24-year-old Simmons after he was cleared by police of any involvement in the murder.

Following are excerpted quotes from this exclusive interview scheduled to broadcast on INSIDE EDITION.  Credit must be given to INSIDE EDITION.

Simmons, who describes their love life as normal, tells INSIDE EDITION their actual relationship was very volatile.

Simmons: "There were times when we had lots of fun, good times, but I always think most of our good times were followed by bad times immediately after."

Simmons tells INSIDE EDITION Karr had a temper and claims she cried every day.

Simmons: "His personality and my personality clashed, to say the least...John is a very vocal fighter, and sometimes those words hurt worse than physical pain."

Simmons tells INSIDE EDITION the police were called on several occasions to their house, but maintains Karr never physically harmed her.

Simmons: "John would crawl up in the corner and cry before he would try to kill me or harm me."

Simmons also speaks with INSIDE EDITION about Karr's belief that he was involved in the Jon Benet tragedy.

Simmons: "He never said that he made it up, never."

Simmons has this to say to INSIDE EDITION on the investigation done by law enforcement.

Simmons: "Why they let him go so quick, I don't understand.  And based on things that I've seen and I mean many people have seen as well its not just me but, I think they dropped the ball too quick on that with him."

Simmons, who says she shares some of the blame for the failure of the relationship, tells INSIDE EDITION she was not oblivious to the world's collective opinion of Karr.

Simmons: "I'm not oblivious to it...I just happen to have caught myself in a situation where I was with this guy who I fell for and cared for and was with him, but yet I just watched as the world thought of him as a monster and as a creep and a killer or a liar, and that was something I wrestled with."

INSIDE EDITION is produced daily at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and produced and distributed by CBS Television Distribution, a unit of CBS Corp.
