BNC Partners with CBS Media Ventures to Strengthen Direct Response and National Ad Sales

Enlarged BNC Sales Footprint Arrives in Conjunction with the Pioneering News Network’s Rebrand and the Introduction of an All-New Programming Lineup

March 16, 2021 – BNC, the nation’s first and only 24/7 news network dedicated to covering the issues, challenges and successes affecting Black and Brown communities, has reached an agreement with CBS Media Ventures to augment the network’s Direct Response and National advertising sales team. The agreement establishes a greater sales footprint for BNC, which already has sales offices in NYC, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Moving forward, CBS Media Ventures will provide BNC with increased representation for Direct Response advertising agencies as well as enhanced engagement with National Brands. The partnership is aimed at generating more spot advertising and sponsorship opportunities for brands looking to connect with BNC’s inclusive audience and align with the network’s mission to inform, entertain and empower.

We’re thrilled to partner with CBS Media Ventures and extend our sales team with the reach and depth of their relationships throughout the advertising community. Most importantly, their team is aligned with our values, they understand why we exist and want to help drive our vision. Connecting with a demographic that has more than $1.3 trillion in annual spend presents significant opportunities, and we’re looking forward to working with CMV on building value for brands that want to engage with BNC,”said Princell Hair, President and CEO of BNC.

We could not be more excited to have BNC join our family of programming that appeals to the African American consumer. We look forward to connecting BNC with our advertiser partners as a network providing programming that is informative, educational, entertaining and inspiring, and most importantly always remains true and authentic to the Black experience in America,” said Steve LoCascio, President of CBS Media Ventures.

On March 1, BNC introduced the first edition of its revamped programming lineup with “Start Your Day with Sharon and Mike,” featuring experienced anchors Sharon Reed and Mike Hill. The all-new morning show airs weekdays 6-10 a.m., covers breaking news, politics, celebrities, business, social justice and more topics important to Black and Brown viewers. BNC intends to debut additional new programming in the coming weeks featuring notable hosts including Charles BlowMarc Lamont HillYodit Tewolde and more nationally influential voices.

CBS Media Ventures’ Media Sales team represents advertising sales for a large portfolio of programming popular with Black audiences. These include syndicated series CMV produces and distributes such as “Judge Judy” and “Hot Bench,” as well as third-party programming, including “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Family Feud,” “Divorce Court” and the upcoming “Nick Cannon” daytime talk show.

BNC's expanding focus on inclusivity and its dedication to truth remain at the core of its commitment to challenge norms and provide news free of bias and constraints, filling a major need for balanced reporting in today's media landscape. According to a September 2020 Gallup poll, trust in mass media is at an all-time low, with six in 10 Americans indicating they had very little or no trust at all in mainstream media. Audiences now more than ever are looking towards unapologetic, honest news reporting. In a landscape of highly partisan cable and network news, BNC is dedicated to presenting all sides of the issues it covers with accurate context, so that viewers can form opinions of their own.
