JEOPARDY!’ DONATES $236,725 TO

THE NORTH VALLEY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AS

AARON RODGERS COMPLETES RUN AS GUEST HOST

Anderson Cooper Takes Over to Host Two Weeks of Shows Starting April 19th

CULVER CITY, CALIF. (April 16, 2021) – As Aaron Rodgers’ run as guest host of JEOPARDY! comes to a close, a donation of $236,725 will be made to the North Valley Community Foundation, a hub for social change in northern California, where Rodgers grew up.

The amount donated equals the cumulative winnings of the contestants who competed during the two weeks Rodgers served as guest host. The donation will be designated as grants from the Aaron Rodgers Small-Business COVID-19 Fund to help locally owned small restaurants and retail establishments that are struggling during the pandemic.

To date, the total funds donated to various charitable causes by JEOPARDY! on behalf of the recent guest hosts’ appearances is $735,930.

Starting on Monday, April 19, former JEOPARDY! competitor and award-winning anchor Anderson Cooper will guest host for two weeks. JEOPARDY! will match the cumulative winnings of all the contestants competing during his first week of shows for a donation to Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti, whose mission is to collaborate with the people of Haiti as they strive to improve their health and quality of life.

During Cooper’s second week of shows, the cumulative winnings of the contestants will be matched in a donation to benefit Justice Defenders, an organization training paralegals and lawyers within defenseless communities in Africa to provide legal services for themselves and others – protecting their rights and addressing their wrongs.

No stranger to the JEOPARDY! stage, Anderson Cooper is the multi-award-winning anchor of CNN's “Anderson Cooper 360°” and host of “Anderson Cooper Full Circle,” a streaming show which airs on CNN's digital properties. He has worked in more than 40 countries and has covered nearly all major news events around the world, often reporting from the scene. In addition to his shows on CNN, Cooper is also a regular correspondent for CBS's “60 Minutes” and an author who has topped the New York Times best-seller list.
