New York, NY – April 30th, 2021 – In an exclusive airing on Friday, INSIDE EDITION speaks with Ashley Chadwell, brother of James Chadwell, the man accused of imprisoning a 12-year-old girl in his basement and who is under investigation in the unsolved murders of teens Libby German and Abby Williams in 2017.

He tells INSIDE EDITION he believes his brother is capable of committing those crimes. “Absolutely, absolutely. He’s shown numerous times not only to his friends, but his family as well, that he has that kind of evil streak in him. He’s a monster. He’s an absolute evil person.”

INSIDE EDITION also speaks with Chadwell’s stepfather, who says he fears the 42-year-old ex-con may be the person caught on Libby German’s cellphone approaching them before their murders in Delphi, Indiana.

“Is he capable? Probably,” he says. “Should they let him back on the street? Not ever! Throw away the keys this time.”

Ashley Chadwell tells INSIDE EDITION his brother tried to drown him when he was 4-years-old. “He is absolutely capable of killing someone."

He also tells INSIDE EDITION that the tattoo on Chadwell’s upper arm, which is drawing attention because it resembles slain Libby German, is relatively new. “I really don’t think he had that tattoo when he got out of prison,” he says.
