Drew: And then I’m meeting you where you come into this legendary legacy show and you sweep it off its feet. Do you guys feel that? Nicole are you around enough people to get the sense that you are taking this ball, the three of you and running with it.

Nicole: I think that it’s been a big deal for them to add four characters of color, all different, and really try their best to tell those stories well. I think they’ve done a great job. To join this iconic piece of television and then to wear these fabulous clothes and then to be a part of this big change, it feels really great.

Karen: I just want to echo something Nicole just talked about, how thoughtful the writers and producers have been with this show. Not just bringing out women who we see all the time in New York City but the nuances of how these women live their lives as very specific…Nya’s arc I have a real connection to, I have two children but there are some days I think man this is hard. Harder than I thought it was going to be. We put motherhood on a pedestal and I think they oversold that, they overpromised on the motherhood thing somedays, you know? I think to myself this is a great opportunity to talk what that is like.

Drew: There was so much paparazzi on the set, on streets, was that distracting?

Nicole: Well it’s funny because my first day was the lunch scene, which is part of the iconic part of the show, four best friends having lunch and we were shooting in a wall that was all glass. And the fans were packed outside, and then behind them were the paparazzi with the long lenses and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I stepped in there. And Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia and Kristin they were so warm and calming. Like, ‘It’s okay. We will do it together. Don’t worry, We Will catch you.’
