SANDRA BULLOCK ON CHEATING: "I THINK IT'S FAR WORSE TO EMOTIONALLY CHEAT ON SOMEBODY"

March 24, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT spoke with Sandra Bullock in 1997 on the set of "Hope Floats," for an interview to re-air tonight, March 24th.

Today Bullock faces marital crisis, but she was already talking about infidelity nearly 13 years ago. "There's so many different ways to cheat," she told ET. "People think infidelity is the way to cheat. I think it's sometimes far worse to emotionally cheat on somebody."

In the summer of 1997, Bullock was filming "Hope Floats" with Harry Connick Jr. In the film, she played a woman whose marriage is on the rocks after she discovers her husbands been cheating. Eight years before her marriage to Jesse James, Bullock said she was already familiar with infidelity, and admitted to cheating herself, "Have I ever cheated? Yeah, I did in college. It was the stupidest thing I ever did. You take away respect from the other person. If you respect the other person enough and you are an honorable person, before it gets to that point, you say, 'Hey listen, I'm getting ready to screw up and I know you're going to leave' and you give the person the right to walk."

Sandra goes on to recall the first time she was cheated on and even laughed about it, "It was sixth grade for me. My boyfriend liked a girl because she had bigger breasts than me and wore tight shirts. I was devastated! I pushed up and it still didn't work and I realized it had nothing to do with the breasts. It was a little more than that."

Back then Sandra confessed to have experienced romantic heartbreak and understood the pain, but also its positive side, "We've all been hit. Anyone who says they don't have a heartache, that's unfortunate because it really does humble you. It definitely humbles you. And some you don't get over."
