"GLEE"'S CORY MONTEITH: "I'D LOVE TO TO SING AT [CO-STAR JANE LYNCH'S] WEDDING"

April 20, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT sat down with "Glee" star Cory Monteith last week in Los Angeles for a new interview to air tonight, April 20th.

Cory says he never expected to be cast in the FOX smash hit, "When they picked me for the part I thought they were mistaken. I thought I was going to be swiftly recast and fired and deported [back to Canada]!"

On the audition process, "Originally I played the Tupperware drums to show my musical abilities, but I had to ultimately sing for the final audition so I had to figure out how to do that very last minute. I never did sing growing up, so it's a change for me. I sang in the car, in the shower but never for anyone. That's scary."

He goes on to tell ET how his life has changed since the success of the show, "My life has changed a lot, but it's wonderful. It's happening to all of us [in the cast] at the same time so we're all trying to figure out how to navigate this new environment. We stick together. A few of the cast members live together. We really do like each other."

On meeting Oprah and President Barack Obama over Easter weekend, "I was nervous meeting Oprah. I think the security was tighter there than at the White House!"

Cory goes on to say he's not dating anyone, "I'm enjoying the single life," but he's thrilled for co-star Jane Lynch's recent engagement, "Congratulations to her! Her partner is wonderful, I've met her a number of times. I'm so very happy for them and I'd love to sing at their wedding," he joked.

Tonight on "Glee" the cast takes on the music of Madonna. "I sing a mash-up with [Lea Michele's] Rachel Barry." And coming up, a special tribute to KISS? "Yeah, I'm dressed up as Jean Simmons. There's pyrotechnics and some pretty fantastic face paint. A fantastic episode."
