LINDSAY LOHAN ON DRUGS AND ALCOHOL: "I'M FINE. I GO OUT, I'M 23, I'M ALLOWED TO DO THAT."

May 5, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's SAMANTHA HARRIS sat down with Lindsay Lohan and her mother Dina at Dina's Long Island home, as Lindsay reveals her special Mother's Day surprise: a closet make-over from Beverly Hills master organizer Linda Koppersmith.  In the new exclusive new interview to air tomorrow, May 6th and Friday, May 7th, when asked if she has a problem with drugs and alcohol, Lindsay says, "No, I don't.  I work.  If I go out with my friends, I'm 23 and I'm allowed to do that.  I don't go out when I'm working." When asked about the photos of her falling in the street that have recently appeared in tabloids, she says, "I'm the most clumsy person in the world.  I do trip a lot.  I fall.  I walk into walls sometimes."

She goes on to say, "I know that the [media scrutiny] comes with [fame] but the problem is that it distracts from me getting jobs and judges at court look at pictures and go based on stories. It hurts me especially when it's not true.  People don't speak to me in a daily basis, so they don't really know. Everyone goes through ups and downs.  I would have been in college experiencing it, but I was in the public eye.  I'm not one to hide anything.  I'm surrounded by great friends now.  I've weeded a lot of people out of my life."

On her relationship with her mother Dina, Lindsay says, "We have a good relationship.  We fight like friends do.  She is a very strong woman.  I've learned a lot.  Not every mother has to read false stories about their daughter.  It's nice to know she has sat by me through all of that.  She knows what is really happening in my life."

Dina tells ET that it's difficult to read tabloid stories about her daughters, "When I read them, it breaks my heart because it's not true.  I'm going to cry...[Lindsay] used to tell me, 'Mommy, look what they write about me.'  Because they wrote so many horrific things that are so untrue."  Lindsay adds, "I don't pay attention to it. I don't think we really pay that much attention to it all."

Dina goes on to say, "No one knows who we are.  Even my ex talks, talking smack, I guess.  We are just very misunderstood."  On the subject of her father, Michael, Lindsay says, "I don't feel like we need to go there.  Glorifying him is not what I'm here to do."  When asked if she will attend her father's wedding to former tabloid reporter Kate Major, Lindsay simply shakes her head.

On how Lindsay's little sister Ali is doing, Dina says, "She's out!  She just got her license, so I'm a little scared."

What's next for Lindsay?  On if the rumors are true that Quentin Tarantino wants to cast her in an upcoming film, she says, "I would like to contact him to find out!  I love Tarantino, so it's an honor to hear that. He's so talented."

Tune-in to ET on Thursday and Friday to see the "before" and "after" of Lindsay's special Mother's Day gift to Dina!
