DIANA ROSS ON RETIRING: "I'M SURE SOMEBODY WILL SAY, "OK DIANA ROSS IT'S ENOUGH NOW!""

May 10, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA) -- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's MARY HART sat down exclusively with Diana Ross in Los Angeles at a private rehearsal for her new world tour, in an interview to air tonight, May 10th and tomorrow, May 11th.

A star for an amazing 46 years, Ross reflects on her beginnings in the music business with The Supremes, "We were learning as we went along. We had the best mentors. I do feel like in a sense we've paved the way. We kind of got something started for the ladies of today."

Ross tells ET it's her music that's her secret for feeling and looking young, "It's what I love to do. It's my passion. It really is not like work, it's more like play. I never think about the past. I keep trying to be in the moment and stay in the now. I really have a good time. But as you realize you're aging, you realize it's important to take care of yourself."

Crediting positive thinking for much of her success over four decades of music, Ross says, "My theme for this year is to enjoy. I do the things that make me happy. I can pick and choose at this point in my life.

And I never deal in gossip. All issues that are not related to positive energy and the future and the good things about people, I don't go there."

She goes on to say that she has no plans for retirement, "I think I will get the messages when it's time for me to stop. It's like at the Apollo they used to drag 'em off with the hook you know when it was time. I'm sure somebody will say, ‘Ok Diana Ross it's enough now!'"

Diana Ross' tour kicks off this Saturday in Boston and runs throughout the U.S. until June 12th.
