MICHAEL DOUGLAS ON GOOD FRIEND BARBARA WALTERS' HEART SURGERY

May 13, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA) -- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's SAMANTHA HARRIS sat down with Michael Douglas today at the Cannes Film Festival for a new interview to air tonight, May 13th.

In Cannes promoting his new film, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Michael speaks about his good friend Barbara Walters and her heart surgery. "I just sent her a note," he says. "She's one of the most thoughtful, loving people, so I hope she'll be fine."

On his 31-year-old son Cameron, who is currently serving a five year prison sentence for drug trafficking, Michael says, "Cameron is doing as well as can be expected. He's holding up alright."

Michael's co-star Shia LaBeouf had his own heath issues when he severely injured his hand in a 2008 car accident. Today Shia says he has "completely" regained movement in his fingers and the accident made him realize he is "fallible." He tells ET, "I'm happy to be alive and working and happy. " When asked about real-life girlfriend and co-star, Carey Mulligan, Shia only reveals that the film will always hold a special place for him since the pair met on-set.
