NEW YORK, NY Thursday, October 12, 2017 – The Rachael Ray Show has announced the launch of the Cook Your Way to Culinary School Contest, which gives high school juniors and seniors between the ages of 16-19, who aspire to pursue education in food service or restaurant-related areas, the opportunity to win a $25,000 scholarship from Rachael’s Yum-O! organization, as well as $500 worth of Rachael’s cookware. Three runners-up will also each win a $5,000 scholarship plus the cookware.

Entries will be accepted through RachaelRayShow.com from now until December 4, 2017.  To enter, contestants should click on “Cook Your Way to Culinary School” and are required to upload a video which features the entrant demonstrating the preparation of an original recipe dish and an explanation of why they feel they deserve to win the scholarship.

The 10 entrants judged to have the highest-scoring videos will be contacted for a phone interview before four finalists are selected to travel to New York City. These four finalists will compete in food-related challenges in New York City during several days in late January – early February 2018 for the scholarship prizes. Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain consent from their parent or legal guardian to participate.

Scholarship prizes will be contingent upon winner(s) attending a qualifying post-secondary institution (see https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator) within two years of winning and majoring in a food service or restaurant-related program.

The distribution and administration of the scholarship prizes provided by Yum-O! will be coordinated with assistance from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the philanthropic foundation of the National Restaurant Association, which is dedicated to training and advancing the next generation of culinary leaders.
