Christina & Drew on Social Media

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/PZx3GB720cBG

Drew: We grew up in front of everybody and now all young people are growing up in front of everybody because of social media.

Christina: Yeah, I think it has its definite craziness and disadvantages, there can be good that I try to pull from it. We have conversations that we can now have openly and share stories. Tabloid stories that might have been such a big thing back when I was coming up before social media can be squashed within five seconds just with a post telling it from your point of view or your narrative rather than a magazine, an editor made that call of what you were feeling and pitting people against each other and things like that. So now, I  feel like it is more of an open space to do that. Some people use it as a disadvantage I think and of course you have your trolls and things like that. Especially if you are not equipped. You are a mother of young kids and so am I…It’s a tricky thing.

Christina on Her Children Being Protective of Her & Teaching Her Every Day

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/kQ31pX91OhWB

Christina: I’m kind of a helicopter mom. I’m so protective.

Drew: I’m so protective.

Christina: I’m so protective but she’s also protective of me, it’s very interesting.

Drew: I heard that which I love, maybe that’s a part of your karma.

Christina: Yeah, you know she’ll like come to my shows and she knows I get nervous before shows and she’ll take my hand, she’s so proud, ‘You’re going to do great mama, you’re going to do amazing. I just know it.’ Like the little supportive mama bear to me that I’m like, you don’t have to be this mama bear. I feel that way to her. We are very kindred spirits. My son too, who is now 15, teaches me so many things every day. He is highly intelligent and so smart. He’s very savvy about people. He’ll read me in a second. We are like the same person in so many ways. Which can make us sometimes get into this really interesting intellectual debates and arguments about why things are the way they are and what makes this artist better than this. It’s just very interesting.

Christina & Drew on Raising Their Daughters

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/8JiG0EkQFZFx

Drew:  My daughter wants to wear a crop top, I’ll say, ‘No’ and she’ll go, ‘You were on the cover of Playboy.’

Christina: I love that she said that though. I knew it was coming the day I wore chaps. I was like, ‘One day, I know I’m going to be like,’ because my daughter wants to wear a crop top too. And I am just like can we just pull it down, I see myself doing that and I think I always try to instill in her that certain people out there have good intentions and bad intentions. I don’t want to scare her in one way and be terrified of the world that everybody is bad person because they are not but also I think it’s important for her to have a strong sense of self but also to be very empowered with her body, eventually will be her sexuality. So I want her to just really know her self first. Kind of musically also even when you take it back to chaps or even you on ‘Playboy,’ we were expressing ourselves and how we felt was best for us I think at the time and was empowering.

Drew: I loved every minute of it.

Christina: We didn’t do it for someone else and then there are so many labels and judgments, ‘Oh you are doing it for a guy.’ No, you’re making it about that narrative in your own head. That has nothing to do. It’s empowering being a female and embracing your body, and everything that makes you feel good or womanly. However that is for yourself to be able to embrace that.

Christina on Her Intimate Las Vegas Residency Allowing Her to Be More Performative

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/DFtyZGp2Kf5X

Drew: And it’s intimate, you play huge stadiums, to get to see you this way.

Christina: But in those huge venues and spaces that I’m use to performing in I don’t actually get to exercise certain material. Like the other day it was late at night and I couldn’t sleep and I had a couple glasses of wine I was like, ‘Babe you know I’ve never watched the full movie of ‘Burlesque’ to myself because there are a couple of songs that I incorporate but I could never do in a huge capacity because they call for again this movie like, intimate setting. I walk through the audience acting out this whole character in some of the songs that I don’t get to be performative in this way.

Christina on her new line Playground and Wanting to Make Sexual Wellness as Natural as Beauty Products

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/LjD4UIYGgO3W

Christina: I want my daughter to have a good self of sense and understanding of her own body and I want to take shame out of how women are supposed to feel about their own bodies. And so many times we are seen as vessels to please other people. How we choose to speak about our bodies and own our sexuality it’s like, ‘Oh yeah they are doing that to flirt,’ or whatever it is. No, I just want to feel good about myself. Look, this is the epicenter of everything, it’s the beginning of life it should be treated with care and priority. I just wanted to make something that women could go to the drug store or your store and I wanted to make sexual wellness, is the main goal, as natural as all the beauty products that we are inundated with out there.

Drew: Coming from you I want in.

Christina on Genie in the Bottle’s 25th Anniversary

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/IYa9ceVqFUao

Drew: I was just recently at the Grammy’s and everyone is freaking out, by the way congratulations 25 years Genie in a Bottle anniversary. Everyone is saying the dress you wore at the Grammy’s was a Genie in the Bottle reference. Did you think of that? Was it subconscious? Or was that a surprise to you that that was everyone’s reaction?

Christina: I would love to say that I’m that calculated and micromanage the marketing strategy of things like that but I’m not that kind of, now that it is out there and they said it I might play into it. It’s very sweet…What a sweet turnaround of events 25 years later to be in this position to be able to celebrate and have these fans saying, ‘Oh this is a tease to that.’ There will be big surprises and fun things to come to celebrate the 25th anniversary and just how much the fans have just been so ride or die for me for so long.

Christina & Drew Reminisce on Their Pasts

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/f49vMe1kitXE

Drew: 25 years did u think that you would have the peace and the wisdom and the confidence that you have today?

Christina: You’re still figuring out your peace and confidence every day. Right?

Drew: 25 years ago I did not think that I would be this okay…By the way 25 years ago I was having a hell of a lot more fun, a different kind of fun

Christina: I did too I just wouldn’t want that for now.

Drew: Never, I wouldn’t want to go back for anything.

Christina: I lived it, I did it. I had my messy moments, I had my great moments but I’m just glad I lived you know what I mean? I lived it. I wasn’t always perfect of perfect for camera or made it a point to be everyone wants to be a little plasticky or robotic and I just, I am glad that it was that I had to eat the backlash or the chaps, at least I lived and I did it. Sometimes you get things out of your system so you can make room for the

peaceful chapters in your life.

Final Five with Drew & Christina Revealing if They are Members of the Mile High Club, What Gets Them in the Mood & More

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/9va48pd21Ycl

Drew: Have you ever nicknamed your lady parts?

Christina: I need time to think about these lets go back to that let me think about it.

Drew: Number two, are you a member of the mile high club?

Christina: Yes.

Drew: Me too.

Christina: Multiple times. You have to be we spend a lot of time on planes, we got to figure it out.

Drew: By the way it feels different, doesn’t it feel wild? It’s not the same. If your curious, ‘Why are people doing it?’ I’m telling you elevation. It feels different. I can’t recommend it more, sorry FAA.

Christina: You’ve got to figure out ways to sneak in the fun, bring some Playground for the long plane ride.

Drew: Number three, one song that best describes your sex life?

Christina: One song, it depends on what mood you’re in. Are we in the mood to be gentle and romantic or are we doing both, maybe there’s a playlist.

Drew: I don’t know why this just came to my mind, I remember thinking that Muse album was really hot. The Strokes, although I dated Fab from The Strokes we didn’t do that, we should have done that. I like to make a mixtape for the occasion and you’re right its very eclectic….Number four what’s one thing that always gets you in the mood?

Christina: I have a weakness if anyone like my neck. If anyone breathes on or kisses my neck. I’m a sucker. It’s immediate turn on…..I like a man that can take control for sure. Make me feel safe but make me feel, take over.

Drew: Is there a historical figure that you would get dirty with?

Christina: You know who I always thought, and I’m sure a die-hard fan of eternally, Salma Hayek played her Frida Kahlo she was a political activist, artist. She had the best style, her life was just so fascinating to me and she knew how to get down and have fun…She seemed like she knew how to get dirty.

Drew: They do flower arranging classes at her house in Mexico City that you can take so maybe we can go to Frida Kahlo’s house and take a flower class and ironically that is what I’ve nicknamed my lady part is my flower.
