Drew’s News: Drew on What Her Daughters Think of Her Wearing Her Sweatpants All The Time

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/sgAuReHcqIqc

Ross: Us Weekly reports Nicole Kidman loves swapping her gowns for her pjs. The actress says she would trade going out for staying in any day. And after red carpet events, she cannot wait to take off those fancy dresses and get into her jammy’s. The opposite of Cinderella. She says it all still feels unreal and overwhelming at times. But at home cozy and curled up is where she feels right. And I think this isn't just for movie stars. Can we all agree? The best part of the day or one of the best is when you get home and you just slip out and then there's nothing better, right?

Drew: I mean, I don't even bother anymore. I just wear my sweatpants all day long, every day.

Ross: When you're not here wearing that kind of stuff, you are in sweats.

Drew: My daughters literally because you know, I'll go to their school fun functions in my sweatpants. And they've started to say like mom, can you please not wear your sweatpants to the school play or you know, whatever. And if I just put on just a little effort, they just dance over the moon. They're like mom you look so not like you and I'm like, no. Yeah, I get it, I get it.

Zoe on Her Relationship with Husband Marco & Their “Playing Legos” Code Word

Drew: Did you just ask her if she's comfortable?

Marco: Yes.

Drew: Oh my God, that is so nice.

Marco: I need to.

Drew: What does that feel like to be cared for like that, can I just ask?

Zoe: It feels lovely I have to say there were for many years when we first got married, it was hard for me to accept it because there's a part of us and women, you know, if our hearts have been broken before where we self-sabotage a lot and then one day you just wake up and you sort of go oh, maybe this is real maybe he really means to ask me if I'm comfortable. So I should just say thank you I am. And, the next step is asking him if he's comfortable.

Drew: The question is, are you comfortable enough to nude bowl? Because we had a story in the news about people starting this nude bowling club and I didn't know that the world needed that. I wasn't aware we needed that many balls. So basically, I'm like, would you ever.

Zoe: I mean, who's to say we haven't already. We do guys, I mean, when we're in Europe and in the Caribbean, sometimes we forget our bathing suits and we just go for like a swim. So, but we've never bowled.

Marco: No, never. We can try. We play Lego naked now.

Zoe: Oh God. Yes. And he, he just found a way to, to call sexy time like playing Legos naked.

So then the boys, at least, you know, our older ones caught on and they were like, ‘Are you guys kissing? Are you guys gonna go play naked with your Legos?’ And we're like, ‘No, we're not going to do that.’

Drew: Ok that is the cutest thing ever.

Zoe on Her Tattoo of Marco Always Being Mistaken for Jesus

Drew: You guys have tattoos of each other, which I think I have a picture of. Is it OK to show Marco that is your tattoo of Zoe?

Zoe: Oh my God, his is better. I have, I have his on my torso but because Marco looks like the Catholic version of Jesus Christo, of Jesus Christ. Everybody thinks like, you know, whenever I get undressed around people, they're like, ‘Are you very religious?’ I'm like, ‘No, why’ it’s like, ‘Well because you have a portrait of Jesus’ and I'm like, ‘No, that's my husband.’

Lisa Welchel on Going Through Puberty on Television on “The Facts of Life”

Drew: And to see these young girls raising each other, raising themselves, living this more independent lifestyle, all under the tutelage of Mrs. Garrett, which made it safe. I didn't realize I'd never put the two together about the independence of those girls and why that show meant so much to me because I was very independent and working and raising myself and my mom and I kind of lived separate lives. And I mean, whoa, what a groundbreaking show.

Lisa: Now, I realize what a privilege it was to play Blair and even the difficult things. Like I went through puberty on television. I gained twenty pounds during the, you know, the teenage years. There was a lot of judgment about that. There was a lot of pressure about looking a certain way, especially because of my character. And they just said, ‘Hey, look, we hired you to play this beautiful character and you're gaining weight, you either need to lose the weight or lose the job.’ And it wasn't until I got older when I realized, oh, what a gift it was to the young women out there that there was a, there was a character who was looked a little bit more like them but was still confident and it was something that we hadn't planned, but I'm so grateful in hindsight.

Drew Gets Emotional When Lisa Shares Her Advice on Raising Girls

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/m1oX2Qso4lL1

Drew: I have an 11-year-old and a 10-year-old. What's your advice to me as a mom raising two daughters?

Lisa: I would say, you know, this, we're all individuals and so to trust that who your daughters are supposed to be, they already are. They just need to be supported to grow into that.

They don't need to be they don't need like a plant, they don't need to be told how to grow.

They need to be, have the environment that they can grow into who they already are because it's already in them and it's already beautiful. And so many times I think in the past parents were told to shape their children. I don't think so. I think parents are supposed to create an environment that they can become who they already are and really trust that.

Drew: I mean, how do you trust it will be ok.

Lisa: Come on, Drew, look at yourself. You what you've gone through and who you are and how you're in influencing and impacting people for good. That was because of everything you went through and you are who you are. So if there's any way, way to question why you can trust.

Look at your own life, look at your own heart, look at who you are and the impact you're having on millions of people.
