Pandemic Special Takes Two Honors

CBS News SVP Rick Jefferson Honored with Chairman’s Award

CBS News was recognized with four News Emmy Awards last night, at the 42nd Annual News and Documentary Emmys ceremony presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The highly acclaimed CBS News Special following healthcare workers fighting the pandemic, BRAVERY AND HOPE: 7 DAYS ON THE FRONT LINE, won for Outstanding News Special and for Outstanding Editing; 60 MINUTES was honored for its pandemic breaking news coverage; and the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL won in the writing category for its weekly feature “On the Road with Steve Hartman.”

In addition, CBS News Senior Vice President for News Operations Rick Jefferson was honored with a Chairman’s Award for devising and implementing COVID pandemic safety protocols across the News Division.
