“CBS SUNDAY MORNING” MARKS ITS 587TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK AS AMERICA’S #1 SUNDAY MORNING NEWS PROGRAM

CBS SUNDAY MORNING, anchored by Jane Pauley, marked its 587th consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 24. The broadcast delivered 5 million viewers with 816,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic desired by advertisers in news. CBS SUNDAY MORING posted its largest audience in four weeks.

Sunday’s broadcast featured CBS SATURDAY MORNING co-host Michelle Miller’s report on the complex subject of “passing.” Anthony Mason talked with Bruce Springsteen and former President Barack Obama about their friendship and their new book. David Pogue reported on the fight against mosquitos. And Tracy Smith explored an art project that has turned concrete eyesores in Toledo into the nation’s largest mural of its kind.

Additionally, Lee Cowan caught up with hockey great Wayne Gretzky. Seth Doane visited with esteemed primatologist and anthropologist Jane Goodall. Martha Stewart offered tasty tips for apple season. And Conor Knighton reported from the Uinta Mountains in Utah where remote lakes are restocked by dropping fish from airplanes.
