CBS SUNDAY MORNING marked its 21st consecutive broadcast year as the #1 Sunday morning news program with viewers, according to Nielsen’s most current ratings.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING delivered 5.67 million viewers with 1 million of them adults 25-54 for the 2020-2021 broadcast year. CBS SUNDAY MORNING increased its share of the three-network audience to 50%, the largest since the 2002-2003 season.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING capped the broadcast year with its 583rd consecutive week as the #1 Sunday morning news program. The broadcast delivered 5.1 million viewers with 788,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic.

Jane Pauley anchored Sunday’s broadcast which featured Ted Koppel’s visit to the town of Mount Airy, N.C., the birthplace of actor Andy Griffith, which has become a popular tourist destination for people nostalgic for the way of life portrayed in “The Andy Griffith Show.”

Also on the broadcast, John Blackstone took viewers to Paris’ Arc de Triomphe, which has been wrapped in fabric for a project the late artist Christo began 60 years ago. Martha Teichner looked at the world of language coaches who work to make sure actors have just the right accents for movies and television. And Tracy Smith caught up with actor James Brolin to talk about his work on a new Netflix series, his career, and his life with wife Barbra Streisand.

Additionally, Serena Altschul reported on what the new season holds in the world of art and museums. Steve Hartman had a story about a small town’s football field of dreams. Mo Rocca talked with Anderson Cooper, who looks back at the life of his mom Gloria and the illustrious Vanderbilt family in a new book. And Lee Cowan previewed some of the most-anticipated movies for the new season.
