CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF NOV. 22

  • 60 MINUTES made the Nielsen top 10 for the fourth straight week and the ninth time over 10 weeks. (Watch 60 MINUTES)

  • CBS SUNDAY MORNING, anchored by Jane Pauley, marked its 592nd consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 28. The broadcast delivered 5.2 million viewers with 846,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic, season second best delivery in both demos.   • CBS SUNDAY MORNING’s PRIMETIME SPECIAL: FOREVER YOUNG: SEARCHING FOR THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH delivered 2.87 million viewers with 416,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. (Watch it now)

  • CBS MORNINGS posted 2.5 million viewers, 540,000 of them in the adult 25-54 demo, and 323,000 among women 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Nov 26.  Nielsen data is based on Live+SD averages for Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23 The new morning program hosted by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson launched on Sept 7. In the 12 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is up +8% in adults and +9% in women compared to the previous 12 week period, which is better than the competition; NBC (+5% in adults and +4% in women) and ABC (+2% in adults and -2% in women).  Compared to last season, CBS MORNINGS has cut into TODAY’s lead on the A25-54 demo by 9% and GMA’s by 12%.  CBS MORNINGS is delivering the tightest gaps in adults and women 25-54 for a season ever (since at least 1991) vs. NBC and ABC.   • FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Nov. 28, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.3 million viewers and 622,000 in adults 25-54, best delivery in both demos since April of this year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in both total viewers (+340k) and in women 25-54 (+9k).   • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL delivered 5.325 million viewers and 942,000 in adults 25-54 the week ending Nov. 19.  Among adults 25-54 (the demo most important to advertisers) CBS EVENING NEWS grew +5% week to week. This season, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 15 years (since 2006) and with ABC since 2018. Compared to last year, the CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the demo gap with NBC by 35% and with ABC by 26%. In viewers, CBS has closed the gap by 15% against NBC and 16% with ABC. Nielsen data is based on Live+SD averages for Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23 (Watch the CBS EVENING NEWS)

  • CBS SATURDAY MORNING the Saturday following Thanksgiving, delivered some its largest numbers in several weeks across key demos. The broadcast delivered 2 million total viewers with 432,000 of them in the adult 25-54 demo. CBS SATURDAY MORNING grew across key demos, while NBC fell and ABC excluded. Among viewers, SATMO grew +8% from last week for its best number in five weeks. In the demo, CBS SATURDAY MORNING delivered its largest audience since July and grew +16% from the prior week. Season-to-date, CBS SATURDAY MORNING is the only program up year over year on viewers. Through ten weeks this season, CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gaps with ABC in total viewers by 30% and by 8% with NBC.
