THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL” IS UP +10% WEEK-TO-WEEK IN TOTAL VIEWERS, THE BIGGEST INCREASE AMONG THE NETWORK EVENING NEWS BROADCASTS

The “CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell” Was the #1 CBS Show in Total Viewers Every Day It Aired Last Week

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL posted week-to-week gains in total viewers (+10%, 5.16m from 4.71m), the biggest increase among the network evening news broadcasts, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 3. The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL also grew in adults 25-54 (+2%, 936,000 from 918,000) compared to last week.

On a week with extensive coverage of Hurricane Ida, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL was the most-watched show on the CBS Television Network. The broadcast was #1 in total viewers every day it aired last week and was #1 in adults 25-54 on Monday and Tuesday.

This season, the CBS EVENING NEWS continues to close the gap with the competition in both adults 25-54 and total viewers. The flagship CBS News broadcast is in its closest competitive position with NBC Nightly News in 26 years (since the 1994-1995 season), closing the gap from last year in adults 25-54 by 36% and by 20% among total viewers.
