CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF NOV. 15

  • 60 MINUTES made the Nielsen top 10 for the third straight week and the eighth time over nine weeks. The CBS newsmagazine was the #1 non-sports broadcast Sunday night. (Watch 60 MINUTES)

  • CBS SUNDAY MORNING, anchored by Jane Pauley, marked its 591st consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 21. The broadcast delivered nearly 4.9 million viewers with 719,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. CBS SUNDAY MORNING holds 50% of the three-network morning audience.   • CBS MORNINGS posted 2.6 million viewers, 553,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic, and 306,000 among women 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Nov 19. These were CBS MORNINGS’ highest weekly numbers in viewers since August 2021.The new morning program hosted by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson launched on Sept 7. In the 11 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is up +8% in adults and +9% in women compared to the previous 11-week period, which is better than the competition, NBC (+3% in adults and women) and ABC (+2% in adults and -2% in women). Compared to last season, CBS MORNINGS has cut into both competitors’ leads in the demo by 13%.   • FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Nov. 21, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.6 million viewers and 380,000 in adults 25-54. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in women 25-54 (+4k).   • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL delivered 5.361 million viewers and 888,000 in adults 25-54 the week ending Nov. 19. The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL posted week-to-week gains in viewers (+4%) its best weekly average in 35 weeks (since March 2021) and the largest week-to-week increase in viewers among the network evening news broadcasts. Among adults 25-54 (the demographic most important to advertisers) the CBS EVENING NEWS grew week-to-week while the competition fell. This season, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 15 years (since 2006) and with ABC since 2018. Compared to last year, the CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the demo gap with NBC by 37% and with ABC by 26%. In viewers, CBS has closed the gap by 19% against NBC and 16% with ABC.   • 48 HOURS was Saturday’s #1 non-sports program with viewers. The broadcast delivered 2.83 million viewers with 551,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 20. (Watch 48 HOURS)

  • CBS SATURDAY MORNING delivered 1.83 million total viewers with 374,000 of them in the adult 25-54 demo. Through nine weeks this season, CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gaps with ABC in total viewers by 29% and by 6% with NBC. In the adult 25-54 demo, CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gap with ABC by 23%. For the season so far, CBS SATURDAY MORNING is delivering the tightest gap among viewers and women 25-54 with NBC and ABC ever (since its debut in 2012). (Watch CBS SATURDAY MORNING)
