CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN” IS THE #1 SUNDAY SHOW ACROSS THE BOARD ON JAN. 16

FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Jan. 16, scoring the top spot in both viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.2 million viewers and 611,000 in adults 25-54, best in the demo in five weeks. FACE THE NATION ranks as the #1 Sunday show in viewers for the 23rd consecutive week.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading ABC by +321,000 viewers and NBC by +389,000 viewers season-to-date) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the adults and women 25-54 demographic.

Sunday’s broadcast of FACE THE NATION featured moderator Margaret Brennan’s interviews with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD), Mayor Quinton Lucas (D-Kansas City), and former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb. CBS News elections and surveys director Anthony Salvanto joined the program to discuss a new CBS News poll finding that most Americans say the president isn’t paying enough attention to either the economy or inflation — together, their top issues. CBS News senior national correspondent Mark Strassmann reported on the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, fueled by the Omicron variant.
