KELLY COBIELLA AND TRISH REGAN ARE NAMED CBS NEWS CORRESPONDENTS, BASED IN NEW YORK

Correspondent Jim Acosta Moves to Atlanta Bureau from New York ?

Kelly Cobiella and Trish Regan have been named CBS News correspondents, based in New York, it was announced by Marcy McGinnis, Senior Vice President, News Coverage, CBS News. Additionally, CBS News Correspondent Jim Acosta will move to the Atlanta bureau from New York. The assignments are effective immediately.

Cobiella has been splitting her time between CBS News and CBS NEWSPATH, the Networks' 24-hour news service since February 2004. Before that, Cobiella filled those duties as a freelance reporter for three months, primarily covering events in Southern California, including the wildfires and the California governor recall. Before her tenure at CBS, she was an anchor and reporter for WPLG-TV Miami/Ft. Lauderdale (1998-2003) and KCOY-TV Santa Maria, Calif. (1994-98), as well as at KJCT-TV Grand Junction, Colo. (1994) and KACT-TV Aurora, Colo. (1993). Cobiella was born in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up near Denver, Colo. She was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1993 with a bachelor of arts degree in international studies and attended the Institut des Estudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence, France (1992-93).

Regan has been a television correspondent for MarketWatch since January 2001.???During that time, she also contributed to the CBS EVENING NEWS weekend editions and THE EARLY SHOW. At MarketWatch, Regan?reported extensively on?safety in the?airline industry, as well as the collapse of Enron and the Martha Stewart?stock scandal.? For CBS News, Regan covered both economic and general assignment stories, including the proposed privatization of social security, the weakening of the U.S. dollar and?the economic recovery, as well as the challenges?facing the?U.S. education system and the problems surrounding electronic voting. ?
Previously, Regan worked as a?CBS MarketWatch business anchor,?substitute news anchor and reporter at KPIX-TV, the CBS Owned station in San Francisco (2001-04).? She covered?major business stories including the?bursting of the technology bubble, the PG&E utility crisis and the Bin Laden money trail.? Her work at the station?earned her?the?Most Outstanding Young Broadcast Journalist?Award from?the Northern California Society of Professional Journalists (2002).? Before joining KPIX, Regan worked as a general assignment correspondent at Bloomberg Television in New York, where she?focused on?technology and business?including the U.S. Federal District Court's verdict ordering the break-up of Microsoft, the mapping of the human genome?and the restructuring of AT&T (2000).? Before that, she worked for the investment banks Goldman Sachs (1999) and D.E. Shaw (1998).

Acosta has been a CBS News correspondent based in New York since February 2003. He contributes primarily to the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH DAN RATHER and has covered stories including the Iraq war from Baghdad, the 2004 presidential campaign of Sen. John Kerry, Hurricane Charley and the Northeast blackout of 2003. Previously, Acosta was a correspondent for CBS NEWSPATH (2001-03) and was based in Dallas and Chicago during that time. Before that, Acosta worked for WBBM-TV, the CBS Owned station in Chicago (2000-01); KTVT-TV, the CBS Owned station in Dallas (1998-2000); WBIR-TV Knoxville (1995-98); and WTTG-TV Washington, D.C. (1994-95). He also worked at WMAL-AM Radio in Washington (1993-94) and WSVA-AM Radio in Harrisonburg, Va. (1992-93). Acosta was born in Fairfax, Va. He was graduated cum laude from James Madison University in 1993 with a degree in mass communications and a minor in political science.
