60 MINUTES MAKES TOP 10 AND IS SUNDAY’S #1 PROGRAM

Webcast 60MinutesOvertime Draws Its Highest Number of Video Streams Since its Debut

60 MINUTES made Nielsen’s Top 10 list this week in viewers and households. America’s top news program finished at #8 in both categories, drawing 10.80 million viewers and scoring a 6.9/11 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for March 18.

60 MINUTES was Sunday’s #1 program in those measurements.

On March 19, 60 MINUTES’ webcast 60MinutesOvertime drew its highest number of video streams for a single day since its debut in September 2010.  The single-day high was part of a +820 percent two-day jump in streams for March 18-19 versus the same period last year and a +363 percent increase over the webcast’s average Sunday-Monday streams season to date.

Sunday’s broadcast featured Scott Pelley’s interview with private aerospace entrepreneur Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, and Lesley Stahl’s report on face blindness, a condition preventing people from recognizing faces that scientists still can’t explain.  60MinutesOvertime featured tests to help users determine whether they are face blind or “super recognizers,” people who are the opposite of face blind who never forget a face.

CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager is the executive producer of 60 MINUTES; 60 MINUTES Executive Editor Bill Owens oversees 60MinutesOvertime.
