CBS News Radio has signed new affiliation agreements with major ownership groups Entercom Communications, Alpha Media and Saga Communications, it was announced today by Charles Pavlounis, Chief Financial Officer for CBS News.

With these new deals, CBS News Radio is now delivering award-winning reporting, information and entertainment content to more than 450 news, talk and music stations around the country.

The agreement with Entercom also includes a co-producing arrangement for a one-minute original update each weekday and a two-hour weekend original long-form program addressing veterans’ issues, both titled “Eye on Veterans.”

These new agreements further solidify CBS News Radio as the leading provider of the best original news reporting and information,” said Pavlounis. “Our affiliate lineup is growing, and we have terrific new programming on the horizon.”

The affiliate agreements are the latest under CBS News Radio’s relationship with Skyview Networks for distribution, inventory management and sales, which kicked off on Jan. 1, 2018. CBS News Radio also renewed key affiliation agreements with WBZ-Boston and KIRO-Seattle, two long-standing affiliates in Top 15 markets in the country.

As America’s premier producer of local news audio content, Entercom is proud to continue our stations’ historic bond with CBS News Radio, which provides our millions of listeners with the best and most-trusted national and international coverage 24/7,” said Chris Oliviero, Executive Vice President of Programming for Entercom. “Also, with the launch of ‘Eye on Veterans,’ we are excited to begin collaborating on new programming vehicles with CBS News Radio that will engage and inform audiences on topics that resonate coast to coast.”

We have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with CBS News for several decades,” said Bob Lawrence, Vice President of Programming for Saga Communications. “In fact, we were one of the first CBS News affiliates in the nation at KRNT in Des Moines. We are truly confident that, in the minds of the news/talk audience, no one offers a stronger, more reliable, more entrenched brand than CBS News. We are extremely proud to continue our valued relationship.”

Our CBS News partnership continues to enhance our original, credible news coverage by keeping our listeners connected to the world,” said Scott Mahalick, Executive Vice President of Content for Alpha Media USA.

The lineup includes an FM NewsBrief, offering stations fast-paced reports and access to breaking news coverage. Additionally, CBS News Radio is producing a daily audio version of the CBS THIS MORNING “Eye Opener.”

CBS News Radio’s hourly newscasts are heard coast to coast and reach more than 3.8 million listeners weekly.
