CBS NEWS WILL DELIVER MULTI-PLATFORM COVERAGE TOMORROW, JULY 27, OF THE HOUSE SELECT COMMITTEE’S FIRST HEARING ON THE ATTACK ON THE U.S. CAPITOL

MAJOR GARRETT WILL ANCHOR A CBS NEWS SPECIAL REPORT ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK AND CBSN

 

CBSN WILL DELIVER COVERAGE ALL DAY BEGINNING AT 9:00 AM, ET, AND STREAM THE HEARING LIVE

 

CBS News will deliver multi-platform coverage of the House Select Committee’s first hearing on the attack on the U.S. Capitol tomorrow, July 27. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett will anchor a CBS News Special Report on the CBS Television Network (approx. 9:30 AM, ET). CBSN, CBS News live 24/7 news service, will simulcast the CBS News Special Report and deliver coverage throughout the day beginning at 9:00 AM, ET.

Garrett will be joined by CBS News senior investigative correspondent Catherine Herridge, CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion, CBS News congressional correspondent Kris Van Cleave, CBS News chief justice and homeland security correspondent Jeff Pegues and CBS News chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes.

Additional coverage plans on the Congressional panel investigating the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol will include:

  • CBSN will deliver live coverage beginning at 9:00 AM, ET, ahead of the hearing with Anne Marie Green and Vlad Duthiers anchoring from New York and Major Garrett in Washington. CBSN will simulcast the Network’s special report and carry the hearing live in its entirety. CBSN’s surrounding coverage will include reporting and analysis from correspondents and contributors, featuring Jeff Pegues, CBS News political reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns and Catherine Herridge.   • Ahead of the hearing, CBS THIS MORNING (7:00-9:00, AM) will feature newsmaking interviews and original reporting, including a report by CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion and an interview with Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

  • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL (6:30-7:00 PM, ET) will provide coverage of the hearing, offering original reporting and reactions from Capitol Hill.

  • CBS Newspath, CBS News’ newsgathering organization providing news and information to 200+ affiliates nationwide and to broadcasters around the world, will offer coverage from Laura Podesta and Skyler Henry throughout the day.
