CBS This Morning Listings for Week of March 14

CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY Planner

March 12, 2016

Anthony Mason & Vinita Nair

Our Feature Stories:

DIGITAL TICKETS:  As we move deeper into the digital age, more venues and organizations are pushing for a paperless ticketing system.  New technologies allow consumers to get in to concerts or sporting events with their IDs, smart phones, wristbands or even credit cards.  But with this technology, there has also been outrage over restrictions which may cost some ticket buyers in the long run. Quartz reporter Ashley Rodriguez will tell us about the benefits and controversy over ditching the paper ticket.

WILD BY NATURE:  Growing up in Switzerland, Sarah Marquis had never heard of solo extreme walking. But by the age of 17, she was walking across continents by herself. Now at age 42, she's an explorer for National Geographic. Vinita Nair sat down with Marquis to talk about her new book, Wild By Nature, and her most extreme journey yet – a walk from Siberia to Australia.

MALKOVICH SESSIONS:  For almost two decades, acclaimed photographer Sandro Miller and character actor John Malkovich have combined their larger-than-life personalities to produce an ongoing series of portraits and films. Their most recent project, a coffee table book titled The Malkovich Sessions, shows Malkovich morphing into 41 famous and historic figures in an effort to recreate some of the world's most iconic images.  We'll talk with Sandro Miller about these unique photos.

THE DISH, MARCUS PASLAY: It wasn't always a straight road to the  kitchen for Marcus Paslay.  During college, while he was working on his business degree, Paslay realized he wasn't happy.  He left business school and soon enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America… and the rest, as they say, is history.   In 2013,  he opened his own restaurant, Clay Pigeon, now a favorite of critics in Fort Worth.  Chef Marcus Paslay joins us for this week’s Dish.

SATURDAY SESSION, TRIXIE WHITLEY: Trixie Whitley is a genre and continent spanning artist who's been compared to Fiona Apple and Cat Power. The Belgian born Whitley borrows from the blues her American father Chris Whitley was famous for, mixing in elements of pop and R&B.  Anthony Mason sits down with the singer and she performs two songs from her new album, Porta Bohemica, in this week’s Saturday Session.
