CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT. 27

  • 60 MINUTES, which featured an interview with a Facebook whistleblower, made the Nielsen top 10 in viewers and adults 25-54, drawing its most viewers since Jan. 17. The CBS newsmagazine’s audience of 10.3 million viewers ranked as the week’s #4 primetime program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Oct. 3.   • CBS SUNDAY MORNING marked its 585th consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program with viewers. The broadcast delivered 5 million viewers with 726,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic desired by those who advertise in news. (Press Release)

  • FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 show in total viewers on Sunday, Oct. 3, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.5 million viewers, and in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, FACE THE NATION delivered 403,000 viewers. (Press Release)

  • CBS MORNINGS, which featured exclusive interviews with Blue Origins whistleblower Alexandra Abrams and R. Kelly survivor Azriel Clary, posted its largest audience since it launched, and was the only broadcast morning news program to grow week-to-week in viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week of Sept. 27. The new CBS MORNINGS launched Sept. 7 with co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson. CBS MORNINGS also delivered its best week with adults 25-54 in 19 weeks (since week of May 17) and its best week with women 25-54 in 22 weeks (since the week of April 26). (Press Release)

  • 48 HOURS is Saturday’s #1 non-sports primetime broadcast with viewers and adults 25-54. The broadcast delivered 2.62 million viewers with 555,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic, which is desired most by advertisers. (Press Release)

  • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL delivered 4.8 million viewers with 809,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. Week two of the season, CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the gap on the demographic with NBC by 25% from last year and 13% among viewers. Versus ABC, CBS’ flagship evening newscast is closing the demographic gap by 4% and 5% among viewers this season. The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O'DONNELL was the #1 show on the CBS Television Network on Thursday, Sept. 30, among both adults 25-54 and viewers. 

  • CBS SATURDAY MORNING is the only program growing from last year among viewers. CBS SATURDAY MORNING delivered 1.82 million viewers with 349,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic. CBS SATURDAY MORNING was up +2% in viewers versus the same week last year, while NBC fell -3% and ABC fell -12%.
