“CBS SATURDAY MORNING” BEATS “SATURDAY TODAY” AMONG ADULTS 18-49 FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER

CBS SATURDAY MORNING beat “Saturday Today” among the adults 18-48 demo (+16k) for the first time ever since the CBS News broadcast’s debut in 2012, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, Oct. 23.

Last week, the broadcast delivered 2.1 million viewers with 376,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic, which is most desired by those who advertise in news. Additionally, it delivered 285,000 in the adults 18-49 demo, its best number since May 8.

For the season, CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gap in viewers with “Good Morning America Saturday” by 26% and by 10% in the adults 25-54 demo.

Brian Applegate is the executive producer of CBS SATURDAY MORNING.

Each Saturday morning, Michelle Miller, Dana Jacobson and Jeff Glor deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and profiles of leading figures in culture and the arts. The show is presented in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. Weekly segments on CBS SATURDAY MORNING include the Emmy-nominated “Saturday Sessions,” where audiences are routinely exposed to some of the best new talent in music, and “The Dish,” a James Beard Award-winning segment where chefs and culinary experts from around the world present their unique cuisines in the context of their life story.
