CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 21

60 MINUTES

  • The #1 primetime program in viewers for the fourth consecutive week. (Watch 60 MINUTES)

  • Every broadcast in first quarter 2022 has finished in the top 10.

  • Delivered 9.13 million viewers in first quarter 2022, with 1.66 million in the adults 25-54 demographic.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING

  • Marked its 608th consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program on March 27 (regular titles only) with 5 million viewers and 787,000 in adults 25-54. (Watch CBS SUNDAY MORNING)

  • Delivered 5.57 million viewers in first quarter 2022, with 920,000 in adults 25-54.

  • Has ranked #1 in viewers every quarter, dating back to second quarter 2003, and in the adults 25-54 demo since fourth quarter 2003.

  • Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING holds 50% of the three-network morning audience.

FACE THE NATION with MARGARET BRENNAN

  • Was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on March 27. (Press Release) (Watch FACE THE NATION)

  • Delivered 3.0 million viewers, with 486,000 in adults 25-54.

  • Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +381,000 viewers) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

  • Increased lead in viewers over ABC (+309k) and NBC (+398k) in first quarter 2022 its largest lead over NBC for any quarter since second quarter 2015.

  • Closed year-over-year gap with NBC by 43% in adults 25-54. Overtook NBC (+12k) in women 25-54, earning the #2 ranking with the demographic for the quarter. This is also its largest lead over NBC for a first quarter since 2015.

CBS MORNINGS

  • Delivered 2.5 million viewers, with 547,000 of them adults 25-54, in first quarter 2022. (Watch CBS MORNINGS)

  • Delivered its tightest gap ever with NBC for any quarter in adults 25-54 and women 25-54.

  • Delivered the narrowest gap with ABC in adults 25-54 in a year and among women ever.

  • Garnered 24% of the women 25-54 demo, its largest three-net share since fourth quarter 1991.

  • For the week of March 21, delivered 2.4 million viewers with 501,000 in adults 25-54 and 285,000 in women 25-54.

  • Grew +5% in viewers week to week, more growth than NBC.

  • Delivered the narrowest viewer gap with NBC since July.

  • In the 29 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is even in adults and +1% in women compared to the previous 29-week period, which is better than the competition, NBC (down -4% in adults and women) and ABC (-3% among adults and down -7% in women).

  • Compared to last season, CBS MORNINGS has cut into NBC and ABC’s leads in the adults 25-54 demo by 12% and 7%, respectively.

  • Season-to-date, CBS MORNINGS is delivering the tightest gaps in adults 25-54 and women 25-54 for a season ever (since at least 1991) vs. NBC and ABC.

CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL

  • Delivered 5.42 million viewers; 921,000 adults 25-54; and 499,000 women 25-54 during first quarter 2022. (Watch the CBS EVENING NEWS)

  • For the week of March 21, CBS EVENING NEWS delivered 4.9 million viewers, with 826,000 adults 25-54.

  • Season-to-date, CBS EVENING NEWS is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 27 years (since 1994-1995) and with ABC since 2018-2019.

  • Compared to last year, CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the adults 25-54 gap with NBC and ABC by 13%.

  • In viewers, the show has closed the gap by 2% against NBC and 10% with ABC.

48 HOURS

  • Was Saturday’s #1 primetime program with viewers during the first quarter of 2022, delivering 3.51 million viewers, 709,000 of them adults 25-54. (Watch 48 HOURS)

  • Was Saturday’s #1 non-sports primetime program with viewers on March 26.

  • Delivered 3.18 million viewers with 645,000 in adults 25-54 on March 26.

  • Was up +22% in viewers, and up +25% in adults 25-54 when compared to the same night last year.

CBS SATURDAY MORNING

  • Delivered 1.94 million viewers, with 397,000 adults 25-54 and 220,000 women 25-54, during first quarter 2022. (Watch CBS SATURDAY MORNING)

  • Garnered 26% share in adults 25-54 and women 25-54 for its largest audience share for a first quarter ever (or since first quarter 2004, before ABC was part of the equation).

  • Delivered its strongest share of women 25-54 for any quarter since second quarter 2004.

  • Delivered its tightest gaps with the competition: tightest with NBC for any quarter ever in adults 25-54 and women 25-54; tightest gap in a first quarter ever with ABC in adults 25-54 and women 25-54.
