Broadcast Also Makes Top 10 in Demos
60 MINUTES drew its largest audience since last March 25, attracting 14.1 million viewers to land at #2 on Nielsen’s top 10 list. The CBS newsmagazine’s broadcast also drew a top-10 audience in the key demos of adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 21.
It was the second straight time 60 MINUTES made the top 10 in both viewers and demos. The broadcast was Sunday’s #1 non-sports program in viewers and demos.
Sunday’s broadcast finished #7 in adults 25-54 (3.2/10) and #6 in adults 18-49 (2.3/9) for the week. Compared to last week, 60 MINUTES was up +19 percent in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/08), +21 percent in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/07) and added +2.34 million viewers (from 11.73m, +20 percent).
60 MINUTES featured Steve Kroft’s report on genetic genealogy’s use as a solver of cold cases; Bill Whitaker’s look at the aging, troubled New York City subway system; and a Scott Pelley story on an American woman who hunts with eagles in Mongolia.
