Brandon Marshall Returns Joining Phil Simms, Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin and Host James Brown; Steve Smith Sr. To Serve As Contributing Analyst
New Season Premieres On Tuesday, September 3 At 9 PM ET/PT; New Episodes Every Tuesday Through Super Bowl LIV
NEW YORK – August 27, 2019 – The Emmy® Award-winning studio show INSIDE THE NFL returns to SHOWTIME for the twelfth consecutive season on Tuesday, September 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT to kick off its 42nd season on television.
The cast features the return of six-time Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall as an analyst, along with two-time Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl XXI MVP Phil Simms (in his twelfth year on the show), two-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis, three-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, and three-time Emmy Award-winning host James Brown in his 10th season as host. Sixteen-year NFL veteran Steve Smith Sr. will serve throughout the season as a contributing guest analyst.

Marshall, who earned an Emmy nomination in his second year on INSIDE THE NFL, returns after a one-year hiatus. While still playing, he joined the series in 2014 and became the first active NFL player to serve as a weekly sports analyst.
Five-time Pro-Bowler Smith started his post-football career in 2016 as a guest contributor on INSIDE THE NFL. He spent 13 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in all major receiving categories. He is set to be inducted into the Panthers Hall of Honor in 2019.
INSIDE THE NFL, the longest running show on cable television, covers every game, every week, with trademark highlights from NFL Films, special in-depth features and spirited debate on the game’s hottest topics. The show is produced by CBS Sports, SHOWTIME Sports and NFL Films, with new episodes premiering every Tuesday night on SHOWTIME through Super Bowl LIV.
In its 12 seasons on SHOWTIME, INSIDE THE NFL has won four Emmy Awards, including two for Outstanding Studio Show and has earned 21 Emmy Nominations. Past cast members of the storied program dating back to 1977 have included Dan Marino, Chuck Bednarik, Nick Buoniconti, Cris Carter, Cris Collinsworth, Bob Costas, Len Dawson, Jerry Glanville, Jimmy Johnson and Boomer Esiason.
The executive producers are Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports and Stephen Espinoza, as well as Ross Ketover and Pat Kelleher of NFL Films. Pete Radovich Jr., the award-winning Creative Director for CBS Sports, serves as coordinating producer.
