CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR PRESENTS "SHOTS THAT MADE HISTORY AT THE MASTERS(R)" ON SATURDAY, APRIL 10
CBS Sports will broadcast a CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR golf special, SHOTS THAT MADE HISTORY AT THE MASTERS on Saturday, April 10 (2:30-3:30 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
Hosted by CBS Sports' Jim Nantz, SHOTS THAT MADE HISTORY AT THE MASTERS looks back at the strokes of genius by some of the game's greatest players that have thrilled golf fans for the last 75 years. Among some of the highlights featured include:
Gene Sarazen's "shot heard ‘round the world" - a double eagle in 1935
Arnold Palmer's charge to victory in 1960
Jack Nicklaus's dramatic birdie on hole No. 16 in 1975; and eagle at No. 15 in 1986
Ben Crenshaw's 70-foot putt on hole No. 10 in 1984
Larry Mize's chip-in on hole No. 11 in a playoff in 1987
Sandy Lyle's birdie from the bunker in 1988
Mark O'Meara's surge in 1998
Phil Mickelson's closing birdie to win in 2004
Tiger Woods' unbelievable chip-in on hole No. 16 in 2005
Angel Cabrera's par from the trees in 2009
SHOTS THAT MADE HISTORY AT THE MASTERS also takes the viewers inside the moment with first-person accounts of the shots from the players who made them including Nicklaus, Palmer, Mickelson, Crenshaw, O'Meara, Lyle and Mize, as well as interviews with Gary Player, Sir Nick Faldo, Trevor Immelman, Geoff Ogilvy, Steve Stricker, Padraig Harrington, Zach Johnson, Craig Stadler, Nick Price, Ernie Els, David Feherty and Jim "Bones" McKay.
The one-hour special also includes rare archival clips from the late Gene Sarazen, the late Byron Nelson and the late Hall of Fame broadcaster Jim McKay.
SHOTS THAT MADE HISTORY AT THE MASTERS is produced by two-time Emmy Award winner Mickey Holden of the Holden Production Group, and directed by Tim Johnson. CBS Sports' Chris Svendsen is coordinating producer.
