WOODS, MICKELSON, WESTWOOD, FURYK, VILLEGAS AND COUPLES COMPETE IN STAR-PACKED FIELD AT QUAIL HOLLOW CHAMPIONSHIP ON CBS SPORTS MAY 1-2
The world's top-ranked players, including No. 1 Tiger Woods and No. 2 Phil Mickelson, compete this weekend at the PGA TOUR's QUAIL HOLLOW CHAMPIONSHIP. Mickelson, 2010 Masters champion, Woods, Lee Westwood, Jim Furyk, Camilo Villegas, Fred Couples, Padraig Harrington, Anthony Kim, Vijay Singh and defending champion Sean O'Hair are among the field this week as CBS Sports broadcasts third- and final-round coverage from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET; both days), live on the CBS Television Network.
Jim Nantz, who this week was honored with his second consecutive Emmy Award for "Outstanding Sports Personality - Play-by-Play" in addition to being named 2009 National Sportscaster of the Year, his fifth overall, serves as anchor of CBS Sports' golf coverage. Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six majors and more-than 40 tournaments worldwide, serves as lead analyst alongside Nantz in the 18th hole tower. Ian Baker-Finch calls the action at the 17th hole and Gary McCord at the 16th. David Feherty and Peter Kostis serve as on-course reporters. Lance Barrow is Coordinating Producer and Steve Milton is Director of CBS Sports' golf coverage. Harold Bryant is Vice President, Production, CBS Sports.
Since the first tournament in 2003, the Quail Hollow Championship annually attracts one of the top fields in golf. This year all of the past champions are competing except for 2004 champion Joey Sindelar, who is playing on the Champions Tour. The field includes Woods, Mickelson, Westwood, Furyk, Villegas, Couples, Harrington, Kim, Singh, O'Hair, Geoff Ogilvy, Rory McIlroy, Angel Cabrera, Kenny Perry, Lucas Glover, Hunter Mahan, David Duval, Rickie Fowler, Nick Watney, Stewart Cink, Retief Goosen, Zach Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Robert Allenby, Matt Kuchar, Steve Marino, Rocco Mediate, Ricky Barnes, Chad Campbell, Kevin Na, J.B. Holmes, as well local favorite Davis Love III, playing here for the eighth consecutive year.
