“ALL SEC ON CBS TEAM” Named by CBS Sports’ College Football Contributors; Programming Begins Wednesday, Dec. 24

CBS Sports Network counts down the Top 10 SEC players of the SEC ON CBS era this week with a series of classic games highlighting standout performances by each player in the Top 10. The list of players was determined by a panel of CBS Sports’ college football contributors, including announcers, producers and CBSSports.com writers.

“ALL SEC ON CBS TEAM” programming kicks off on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and continues through Sunday, Dec. 28. Programming information is included below and a full schedule is available at www.cbssportsnetwork.com.  

“ALL SEC ON CBS TEAM” AND PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE

10. Julio Jones (2010 Iron Bowl – Airs Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 6:00 PM, ET)

The Alabama wide receiver was a 2010 AP All-American and First Team All-SEC Selection who finished his career with 15 touchdowns and 2,653 receiving yards.  During the 2010 Iron Bowl, he had 10 receptions for 199 yards and one touchdown.

9. Jadaveon Clowney (South Carolina vs. Missouri, 2012 – Airs Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 9:00 PM, ET)

The South Carolina defensive end was a 2012 consensus All-American and won the Ted Hendricks Award, given to college football’s top defensive end. On Sept. 22, 2012, Clowney had 1.5 sacks against Missouri, as the Gamecocks beat the Tigers 31-10.

8. Mark Ingram (2009 SEC Championship – Airs Thursday, Dec. 25 at 6:00 PM, ET)

The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner and consensus All-American finished his career at Alabama with 3,261 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns.  In the 2009 SEC Championship game, Ingram had three touchdowns and 189 total yards to leadthe Crimson Tide over Florida.

7. Eli Manning (Ole Miss vs. Auburn, 2003 – Airs Thursday, Dec. 25 at 9:00 PM, ET)

The 2003 Maxwell Award Winner threw for 10,119 yards and 81 touchdowns in four seasons at Ole Miss. On Nov. 8, 2003, Manning threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns against Auburn.

6. Darren McFadden (Arkansas vs. LSU, 2007 – Airs Friday, Dec. 26 at 6:00 PM, ET)

A consensus All-American and Heisman Trophy runner-up in both 2006 and 2007, McFadden ran for 4,590 yards (second in SEC history) and 41 touchdowns in his career. On Nov. 23, 2007,McFadden had206 yards rushing and three touchdowns as Arkansas defeated No. 1-ranked LSU.

5. Danny Wuerffel (Florida vs. Tennessee, 1996 – Airs Friday, Dec. 26 at 9:00 PM, ET)

The Florida quarterback won the 1996 Heisman Trophy and was a consensus All-American. As a four-year starter, he passed for 10,875 yards and 114 touchdowns (second in SEC history). On Sept. 21, 1996, Wuerffel had four touchdowns in the first half against Tennessee.

4. Cam Newton (2010 SEC Championship – Airs Saturday, Dec. 27 at 6:00 PM, ET)

In his only season at Auburn, the 2010 Heisman Trophy Winner led the Tigers to an undefeated season and national title. He passed for 2,854 yards and 30 touchdowns that season and ran for 1,473 yards and 20 touchdowns. In the 2010 SEC Championship against South Carolina, Newton threw for 335 yards and four touchdowns, and had 73 yards rushing for two touchdowns.

3. Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M vs. Alabama, 2012 – Airs Saturday, Dec. 27 at 9:00 PM, ET)

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner and first freshman to ever win the award was also a consensus All-American. He had 47 total touchdowns in 2012, and broke the SEC single-season record for total yards with 5,116 (3,706 passing, 1,410 rushing). On Nov. 10, 2012, Manziel threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns, and had 92 rushing yards to lead Texas A&M over No. 1-ranked Alabama.

2. Peyton Manning (Tennessee vs. Kentucky, 1996 – Airs Sunday, Dec. 28 at 3:00 PM, ET)

Manning was a four-year starter for the Volunteers and a 1997 Consensus All-American.  He passed for 11,201 yards and 89 touchdowns, third in SEC history.  On Nov. 23, 1996, Manning threw for three touchdowns and 317 yards against Kentucky.

1. Tim Tebow (2008 SEC Championship – Airs, Sunday, Dec. 28 at 6:00 PM, ET)

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and consensus All-American won two national championships at Florida, while passing for 9,285 yards and 88 touchdowns. He also ran for 2,947 yards and 57 touchdowns in his career, an SEC record. Tebow also holds the SEC record for total career touchdowns with 145. In the 2008 SEC Championship game, Tebow threw for three touchdowns to lead Florida over Alabama.
