Analysts Clint Dempsey, Charlie Davies and Oguchi Onyewu join Host Kate Abdo to Anchor Studio Coverage on CONCACAF TODAY Live from Denver

Janelly Farias to Contribute In-Studio; Nico Cantor and Jenny Chiu to Provide Sideline Coverage

Maurice Edu and Marcelo Balboa to Provide Match Analysis; Andres Cordero and Adrian Garcia-Marquez to Call Play-By-Play 

Paramount+ to Stream All Matches and CBS Sports Network to Feature Two Matches

CBS Sports revealed its announce team for live Concacaf Men’s Nations League Finals coverage from Denver, airing June 3-6 across multiple ViacomCBS platforms, with every match on Paramount+ and two out of the four matches on CBS Sports Network.

Analysts Clint Dempsey, Charlie Davies, Oguchi Onyewu, and host Kate Abdo will lead CONCACAF TODAY, CBS Sports’ live pregame, halftime and postgame studio show, with contributions from Mexico Women’s National Team player Janelly Farias. CONCACAF TODAY will be live on set from inside Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. Nico Cantor and Jenny Chiu will provide reports from the sidelines. 

Veteran announcer Maurice Edu will provide match analysis alongside play-by-play partner Andres Cordero for the Honduras vs. United States Semifinal match on June 3; Marcelo Balboa will be the match analyst with play-by-play lead Adrian Garcia-Marquez for the Mexico vs. Costa Rica Semifinal match that same day. Cantor and Chiu will provide sideline coverage across all four matches.

The team we’ve assembled is representative of the sport, the region, and the U.S. Men’s National team, featuring former legends and star players. It’s incredibly exciting to be presenting the first-ever Concacaf Men’s Nations League competition and to have this talented group headlining our coverage of the best national teams in the region.”

Coverage of the Concacaf Men’s Nations League Finals on June 3 includes Honduras vs. United States (7:30 PM, ET) on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network, and continues with Mexico vs. Costa Rica (10:00 PM, ET) on Paramount+. CBS Sports coverage concludes on June 6 with the third-place match (6:30 PM, ET) on Paramount+ and the Final (9:00 PM, ET) on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network.

Radovich, CBS Sports’ Senior Creative Director, will be the coordinating producer for Concacaf Nations League Finals coverage. Jonathan Segal will produce CBS Sports’ coverage alongside Radovich. Harold Bryant is executive producer and executive vice president, production, CBS Sports.

ABOUT THE ANNOUNCERS

KATE ABDO: Abdo brings a wealth of experience covering international soccer’s top events, including the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, FIFA Men’s and Women’s World Cup. She has hosted coverage of the top European leagues for networks in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain and Germany. She has also hosted some of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in world sports, including the FIFA Ballon d’Or multiple times. 

MARCELO BALBOA: Balboa starred for León in Liga MX and with the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer during a lengthy playing career. The defender also represented the U.S. Men’s National Team in three FIFA World Cups (1990, 1994, 1998), twice winning U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year, and is also a 2005 inductee of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. As a broadcaster, Balboa has covered matches on the game’s biggest stage, including the FIFA World Cup and Olympics. Balboa is currently an analyst for Univision and the Colorado Rapids. 

NICO CANTOR: Cantor serves as host of CBS Sports’ live whip-around program, “The Golazo Show,” providing coverage across UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network. He has previously worked as a studio analyst and USMNT reporter at Univision, providing English and Spanish coverage for Major League Soccer and Liga MX competition. 

JENNY CHIU: Chiu has served as a reporter on a number of properties across CBS Sports, including UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the NWSL. Chiu has also worked in broadcasting and reporter roles for Major League Soccer clubs Orlando City SC and Portland Timbers, and NWSL clubs Orlando Pride and Portland Thorns. As a player, Chiu represented Mexico at numerous levels, including at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and at the collegiate level for NCAA powerhouse University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill.

ANDRES CORDERO: Cordero has called play-by-play for international competitions at the highest levels of the game, including La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Copa Libertadores, World Cup Qualifiers and Africa Cup of Nations. Cordero is currently the play-by-play voice of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF. 

CHARLIE DAVIES: Davies spent his career playing in Europe with stops at Hammarby in Sweden, Sochaux in France, and Randers in Denmark, before coming to play in Major League Soccer with D.C. United, New England Revolution and the Philadelphia Union. The forward also played for the United States Men’s National Team, representing the United States at the 2008 Olympics and 2009 Confederations Cup. Davies retired from playing in 2018 and serves as an analyst for Major League Soccer, the New England Revolution and the ACC Network. 

CLINT DEMPSEY: Dempsey is considered one of the greatest American players in history and was twice named Fulham FC’s player of the season. Following time at Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, Dempsey scored 57 English Premier League goals—the most all-time for any American men’s player. The Texas native also spent time in Major League Soccer, beginning his pro career with the New England Revolution and ending his career with Seattle Sounders FC. Dempsey has represented the United States in three FIFA World Cups, and his 57 goals are tied for the most in U.S. Men’s National Team history. Dempsey, who retired from playing in 2018, will be making his debut as an analyst.

MAURICE EDU: Edu spent the majority of his playing career with Scottish club Rangers, also featuring stops with England’s Stoke City, Turkey’s Bursaspor, and Major League Soccer clubs Toronto FC and Philadelphia Union. Edu has also represented the U.S. Men’s National Team at major tournaments including the 2008 Olympics and 2010 FIFA World Cup. As a broadcaster, Edu has worked for FOX Sports covering Major League Soccer and the U.S. National Team. 

JANELLY FARIAS: Farias is currently a defender for Mexican side Club América, previously playing for C.D. Guadalajara in Liga MX Femenil. Born and raised in Southern California, Farias is Mexican-American and has represented the Mexico Women’s National Team at numerous levels, including at the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship. Farias’ experience as an analyst includes covering the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup for Telemundo. 

ADRIAN GARCIA-MARQUEZ: Garcia-Marquez has called and covered some of the biggest events in global sports in Spanish including the NBA Finals, World Series, World Cup, Olympics and the NFL. Garcia-Marquez is an Emmy Award-winning announcer, won a championship ring broadcasting the LA Galaxy in 2012, and has worked with some of the most prominent broadcasters in his career including at ESPN Deportes, Telemundo, Univision, and currently with FOX Deportes. 

OGUCHI ONYEWU: Onyewu had a prolific career as a defender across a number of clubs, including Standard Liège in Belgium, Newcastle United in England, A.C. Milan in Italy, Sporting CP in Portugal and Malaga CF in Spain. Onyewu was a mainstay for the United States Men’s National Team, representing the U.S. at the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and the 2009 Confederations Cup. He previously served as the Sporting Director for USL League One club Orlando City B and is currently the CEO of ONYX Elite, a sports performance and general fitness company. Onyewu will be making his CBS debut as an analyst and has previously worked in similar roles for TNT and ESPN covering UEFA Champions League and ACC College Soccer.
