CBS SPORTS FEATURES “BRITISH GRAND PRIX” IN FINAL FORMULA 1 RACE
CBS Sports concludes its coverage of FIA Formula One World Championship races with the exciting BRITISH GRAND PRIX Presented by Philips Norelco on Sunday, June 11 (1:00–3:00 PM, ET). Located near the village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire, the BRITISH GRAND PRIX is a historic race that dates back to the first Formula One World Championship in 1950. Silverstone hosted the original race and has hosted every one since 1987. The racetrack, originally part of the aerodrome, was converted after World War II using its outer taxiways and interconnecting runways. This year, Columbian driver Juan Pablo Montoya of the McLaren Mercedes team looks to defend his 2005 title against top drivers including Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Räikkönen. The 60 lap, high energy race, will be hosted by CBS Sports’ Ralph Sheehan and Derek Daly.
