CBS SPORTS RIDES INTO PARIS WITH FINAL STAGES OF “TOUR DE FRANCE” ON SUNDAY, JULY 23
CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR’s coverage of the 2006 TOUR DE FRANCE completes its third and final stage of hour-long specials on Sunday, July 23 (5:00-6:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. The Network’s coverage of the final stages of the TOUR DE FRANCE features the crowning of a new champion after seven consecutive years of dominance by American Lance Armstrong. Armstrong’s faithful lieutenant for several of his victories and fellow American, Floyd Landis, will try to make up for lost time but it might be too little too late as he sits eight minutes and eight seconds behind the leader Oscar Pereiro Sio of Spain. CBS Sports TOUR DE FRANCE newcomer Bob Neumeier joins “the voice of cycling” analyst Phil Liggett, who is working his 34th consecutive year on Tour television coverage, and industry veteran and former pro rider of seven Tours, Paul Sherwen, in calling the action for CBS Sports. CBS Sports once again partners with Outdoor Life Network (OLN) to broadcast the 2006 Tour de France. Vic Frank serves as producer of CBS Sports’ coverage. Production support will be provided by OLN.
