CBS SPORTS AND JIM NANTZ PRESENT
"JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1986 MASTERS®" ON SUNDAY, APRIL 9

CBS Sports will broadcast the CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR special, JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1986 MASTERS® presented by RBS on Sunday, April 9 (1:30-2:30 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.

Jim Nantz, CBS Sports' host of the Network's Masters coverage, will look back at what was arguably the most memorable Masters Sunday in the tournament's rich history in JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1986 MASTERS. On April 13, 1986, 46-year-old Jack Nicklaus won his sixth green jacket. His charge around Augusta's famed second nine lifted him to victory past the likes of Seve Ballesteros, Tom Kite and Greg Norman. The show will re-air portions of the original CBS broadcast from 1986 and will include an interview with Nicklaus as he provides vivid details of his dramatic come-from-behind victory, plus, an emotional review of his final Masters appearance last year.

"I will never forget April 13, 1986," said Nantz. "It was my first Masters and just as it ended, Ken Venturi drove me back to the CBS compound and said, 'Jimmy, you may be lucky enough to broadcast 50 Masters, but you'll never live to see a greater one than the one you saw today.' I think he was right. For a whole generation of young golfers, they never saw Nicklaus win a tournament. Moreover, so many people have said they wish they had recorded the 1986 Masters because it was one of the greatest sporting events of all time. Now we will be able to sit back and enjoy it all over again; just as it looked and sounded 20 years ago."

JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1986 MASTERS is produced and directed by Chris Svendsen. The Executive Producer for this special is Jim Nantz. Lance Barrow is Coordinating Producer, Golf, CBS Sports.

Tony Petitti is Executive Vice President and Executive Producer, CBS Sports.
