"The Talk" studio goes dark to simulate a total eclipse with Science Guy Bill Nye. Nye says, "We're going to have a total solar eclipse here in North America... It is an extraordinary thing, if you've never seen a total solar eclipse I strongly encourage you to get in the path and experience totality...it's spectacular. When it's a partial eclipse it's not that different from a cloudy day, which is okay, but if you can get into totality that's the way to go." As the studio goes dark, he adds, "When this happens, you guys, birds start singing, crickets start chirping, cricketing, it goes completely black. The ground cools off so much...that a breeze starts. And then the moon as seen from the earth keeps moving, the earth keeps spinning, and light returns. Because of human nature you just want to stare at this thing, it's just the way humans are. And it goes on for almost three hours...everybody please, get the [protective] glasses...it is a real safety issue, do not just use regular sunglasses."
