CBS STUDIOS INTERNATIONAL AND AVEX GROUP HOLDING INC. ANNOUNCE NEW MOBILE SUBSCRIPTION VIDEO ON DEMAND DEAL


 

 

LOS ANGELES, June 11, 2012 CBS Studios International and Japan’s Avex Broadcasting & Communications today announced a new multi-year, non-exclusive agreement for CBS programming to be available on AVEX ’s d Market Video Store, a subscription on-demand video service available to DOCOMO mobile subscribers for their smartphones and tablets.

The subscription video on demand deal includes television content from across the CBS Corporation.  This includes early seasons of current hits such as NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and 90210, all of which were just renewed for new seasons in the United States, and full seasons of iconic series such as Star Trek, Star Trek: Enterprise, Numb3rs, Medium and The 4400.

“The continued growth of mobile devices in Japan has opened new and exciting opportunities to monetize our content in a way that complements our existing licensing deals in the market,” said Armando Nuñez, President, CBS Studios International.  “We’re thrilled to partner with Avex to deliver CBS programming to the progressive Japanese audiences on these platforms.”
